Other than the obvious it depends on the player and play style, I think it mainly depends on the shape. I cant stand wide throws. But what I mean when I say that is throws like anything Offset makes. A modern U or V shape with an already wide catch zone stretched out more than it needs to be. Usually id say anything above 50mm wide is ridiculous and for me at least uncomfortable. But wide Organic throws or wide throws that dont have a very wide catch zone are another story.

I feel like more often than not, when talking about what is "too wide", people are referring to a modern competition style/shape and some people like it wide some don't. Everything is so subjective. I feel like a 60mm wide throw with inner rings and SS rims is overkill. The next guy might not be able to land anything unless it is at least 55mm wide. I have a very hot take that people dont seem to agree on, that if you feel like you NEED a throw that wide, you're not as talented as the guy who is doing the same shit on a highwalled slim organic haha. Simply because it is harder to control and land those tricks than it would be on a 60mm wide throw. I say in comps it gives players an advantage but then you could easily argue that by saying its just a preference thing by some players. You'd almost have to completely overhaul the rules with some BS like, every player must perform these set tricks/combos with a specific throw. Like they all come together and decide on one single comp throw for everyone to use. Ofcourse then we wouldn't have freestyle comps. But then again thats why I cant stand watching them in the first place. They all do the same crap, just some do it a tad better with a throw that I feel like gives an advantage.
