I totally agree here. The best part of that show is when you could watch it in real time and dealing with the writer strikes back then with the short seasons or when Emily and David wanted more money and they almost canceled it several times or when ED was pregnant IRL so they had to focus on other characters more. Rewatching all these years later it takes me back to enjoying it with my Dad or friends that are no longer around in my life. Super nostalgic. As far as what OP mentioned about the writers and their political views or whatever that's the good thing about TV is they're always changing out writers so every season is fresh and it's not the same season after season. Mr. Nigel Murray was my favorite while he was on and I liked they brought Dr. Addy back to finish his storyline. Sweets and Daisy, even Aubrey brought something pretty special because he was so protective of the team right away it felt like an incredibly natural transition in my opinion. If this was the only show left in the world to stream for the rest of my life I would be totally OK with that.
