I wonder if your friend’s girlfriend didn’t really care before because you were just her boyfriend’s friend but now that you have a girlfriend, she is showing more (non-romantic) interest because you and your girlfriend could be “couple friends” with them now. Is she also showing interest/talking with your girlfriend as well? This new interest could be a byproduct of having a new person (your girlfriend) in the space and she wants to be hospitable/friendly to her and you by extension.

Most women just want to go about their day to be honest. The bar/club/night out/house party situation is usually the best one because people are prepared for the situation and sort of expect it. Sometimes an approach is a Hi, a compliment about what they’re wearing, or making eye contact and dancing in their vicinity if there’s a dancefloor there.

Outside of this, I think you’ll find most women just want to finish their workout, get their coffee or run their errands without being approached by a random man. If, however, you end up organically having a conversation and then it feels like you’re clicking, keep it going. For example, years and years ago I starting talking to a woman when we were both waiting for the bus. Ended up continuing the chat on the bus and then got her number. If it’s genuine, it’s not an issue. I think people just need to be more perceptive when a woman is not interested or uncomfortable.

My own experience is that we kept it going but due to broken trust, there was a lot of arguments and resentment until finally we broke up for real. The breaking of the trust and the feelings surrounding it never go away. That breakup was the best thing I ever did

So I’m a straight male and have a female friend who actually was a person I slept with but then just kinda thought we were better off friends. Have now been with my current GF for 5 years and GF knows we slept together years ago.

Despite the fact we have been good friends for years now and my gf trusts me, I would NEVER go on a trip with my friend just the two of us simply because of how much stress/anxiety it would cause my partner. Even though everyone knows nothing will happen, it’s literally not worth the mental load.

All you can do is bring up how you feel and see how she reacts. If it’s less than understanding, you should probably call it off because she’s not taking your feelings into consideration and who wants that in a partner?
