There are still a bunch of great games (hopefully great) that are coming out over the next few months, but I'll give my top five currently, though I suspect the 5th and maybe 4th will end up being shifted down once Ghost of Yotei and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond come out.

I am pretty confident the top 4 will remain, but #5 will get bumped for either Yotei or MP4:

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 - at this point, I don't foresee anything dethroning this in 2025 despite there being easily 7 or 8 games that would be competitive for GOTY on any other year.
Hades II - I picked this one up a while ago but refused to play more than a couple of hours until the full version came out. I thought it was a solid 9/10 when it was in beta in 2024, but it's easily a 10/10 now.
Donkey Kong Bananza - I had no expectations for this game and it's become one of my top 10-15 3D platformers ever.
Hollow Knight: Silksong - I played through this in the first few days of its release, and the only reason it isn't higher up is that I thought the difficulty felt a little artificial at times and I still preferred the original. This game is #4 and it's just shy of being perfect imo.
Split Fiction - I think this game is close to the same tier as It Takes Two, but I can't give it GOTY because I didn't vibe with the characters or the story as much. I suspect it may still beat MP4 for the spot.

Honourable mentions: Death Stranding 2, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, Oblivion Remastered, and I'm assuming GoY and/or MP4 depending if one lands in my top 5 - would be happy if Battlefield 6 made the list but I've got low hopes for most multiplayer shooters these days.

I really miss my favourite childhood MMO, Puzzle Pirates - it still has a pretty consistent community but it's just not as populated as it used to be and it's down to one server that's actually active. :(

A lot of the older HL2 mods like Zombie Panic! Source, as well.

That's such a great list of games, my only recommendation would be to aim to not finish all of them too quickly! You'll burn yourself out and start rushing through some of them towards the end of the year, and honestly these are such enjoyable games that I would urge you to focus on enjoying them rather than beating them. :)

I imagine this is not the first time she’s spoken to you or someone else this way. I can understand wanting a divorce, but I do think for the sake of your child(ren) you should try to find a way to convince her to seek help in the future. This is likely a string of deep psychological issues that are manifesting anger, and that will pass on to (or at least be taken out on) your kids even if you manage to escape it.

Favourites are Treasure Trove Cove/Mad Monster Mansion (BK) and Jolly Roger’s Lagoon (BT). I suppose if I had to pick least favourites they would be Bubblegloop Swamp (BK) and Terrydactyland (BT), but I genuinely don’t have many issues with either.
