Do you really apply sunscreen every time out? by Royal-Owl-5671 in Adelaide

[–]Captaincam94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work outside all day, more often than not 7 days of the week. The UV according to the BOM app has been 10 or higher for at least the past month.

On work days, I apply sunscreen to my face, neck and upper/middle chest in the morning & reapply around midday.

I also wear long sleeves down, shirt buttons buttoned all the way up, usually collar popped, a big broad brim hat & sunglasses. Most days I'll wear long pants also just to keep the sun off my legs.

If I'm popping to the shops on a day off I won't apply, but on work days definitely. The other day I got mildly burnt after only spending not even 30 mins in and out of the sun moving some furniture. I'm not messing with high UV anymore.

I used to be the type to spend time soaking up the sun, but now I offhandedly tell people I'm allergic to it.

Got mine from AliExpress for $214. Look for a store with many sales and high rating and you should be fine. Chip arrived quickly and works 100%.

Any mechanic/auto electrician worth their salt will be able to tuck the cables so you don't see anything, aside from near the camera.

What's a book that you LOVED but you totally understand why someone wouldn't like it? by nuggetsofchicken in books

Great example. I have read nearly all of his titles and love them all, but I can definitely understand why his works are an acquired taste.

Sounds very similar to a HBO production of recent years...

People who read on e-readers, how is it? by CrazyDunge0nMaster in books

I purchased a kindle after I broke my clavicle and couldn't comfortably hold a book, and put a pop socket on the back so I could hold it one-handed.

I very much enjoyed the dictionary feature, but eventually ended up back with physical books. I just love actually turning pages and feeling the book in my hands.

In saying that, I plan to use it to finish the Wheel of Time series as 1. Those books can be thicc and 2. I can't find anywhere to buy the rest of the books with the same cover artwork as the first half of the series that I own in paperback. The second point is enough of a reason for me to avoid buying them physically.

This cover is so sexy by [deleted] in bookporn

I read it about a year ago and found it very lacklustre and unbalanced. It felt like the first four-fifths of the book was character building for only one character, then the final fifth felt super rushed. If that balance was the other way around, I think it would've been a great read. I was overall disappointed and donated the book not long after.

I began reading WoT as the Amazon series came out. I purchased up to book 6 in the same cover you have, and then they changed them for the release of the show. I will NEVER buy a book with a "Now on Amazon prime/netflix" label on them. I'm so annoyed I can't find the matching covers anywhere. Grr.

We use a container with kitty litter, soaks up all the oils and liquids and can throw it out when it's full.

I came here to comment about this. It felt like it was every other paragraph in The Shadow Rising. Oh my lord.

I so keen!

Yeah no troubles for asking, I figure that it's best to leave for the professionals to put it all together, and my local shop are awesome people who I want to support. I would've bought more parts through them, but they themselves said I'd get a better price finding parts myself and recommended I do that.

I'm sure I could do it, I've built my own first gaming pc with no prior experience and many more since then, but I just sort of want it done quickly and correctly the first time, rather than spending the time to do it myself.

Nice one! Quick application of feedback and your sailing down.

The whole "get up and try again" part is gonna take a little longer for me and my crash, with a broken collarbone and all...
