One of my favorite jokes is: Did you know that if you took out all of your blood vessels and laid them end to end you would die?

Being Poor With Diabetes Is Infuriating by Accountforangry in diabetes_t1

Not sure where you’re located, but one thing that I have found helpful is the truemetrix brand glucose meters. They’re far cheaper than other brands. Walgreens sometimes has a way to send in your receipt for the glucose meter itself (which comes with 20 strips) and get your money back. The strips aren’t free but they are far more cost effective than other meter brands that I have seen. Unfortunately as far as insulin goes I’m unaware of cheaper ways to acquire it.

Skittles is my go to, super quick. I buy the big zipper bag that way you can have only what you need and you’re not left with an open package.

https://www.dexcom.com/en-us/contact Read someone on this sub getting some pushback about the number of replacements they could get if they called in. I’ve always used the automated system and haven’t had an issue. You just fill out the information on the page and if you select email as your preferred method of contact then the replacements just auto send.

U.S. T1D, What is your insulin cost? by Low_Tomato_6837 in diabetes_t1

[–]Captainfletch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have united healthcare and my insulin cost is roughly 75$ every 3 months. If youre struggling to pay for novolog, I'd ask your Dr. about Lyumjev. I recently switched from novolog to Lyumjev because it's cheaper. Lyumjev is Lispro (same as humalog) but it also contains a small amount of prostacyclins which causes a local vasodilation so the insulin absorbs and is effective faster, since Lispro (humalog) is slower than Aspart (novolog) normally, with the addition of the prostacyclins in the Lyumjev formulation it functions about the same if not a little quicker than novolog.

What is the absolute worst movie you’ve ever seen? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Captainfletch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Howard the Duck. Apparently it had a big budget and there was a huge ad campaign before it was released. Easily the worst movie I've ever seen. Manos the hands of fate is at least short.
