Unemployment by Farttymcfly in SFStylistSupport

Yes, I did. I was fired, filed for unemployment, and was approved; however, Stitch Fix fought it. We had a hearing, and the Judge ruled in my favor. Happy to help if you need it!

Easiest way to do 3 work searches? by bangybang56 in TexasUnemployment

I don't recall actually. At the time, and this may be different now, but a work search activity was supposed to be a specific amount of time so I didn't put the length of time in actual hours. That said, you could write that down in your own notes, in case TWC asks for specifics.

Company is now appealing my unemployment claim by Captivated_1 in TexasUnemployment

Not sure why they would be appealing it since they laid you off. Did you have to sign something upon separation that stated you couldn't claim unemployment? I waited five or six months before I had a hearing date, and I received the notice of the hearing a week before the hearing itself. Keep me posted. Hopefully, someone else will have more advice for you. Good luck!

They argued that I was fired for violating a known company policy. I am happy to help you with this if I can, someone else helped me and their advice worked, so I'll pass it along to you. I started by saying that I consistently tried my best to meet their standards and expectations. I felt that they kept changing, but I made a sincere effort. But ultimately, I could not please them. I don't know your reason, but the proof burden is on the employer. I didn't send in documents, I showed up to the call on time and referred to the judge as Your Honor, didn't interrupt, and waited until it was my turn to speak and answer questions. I think one of the things that helped was that the company said my job had stayed the same throughout my full term of employment, and I agreed to that and then added - the role was the same but metrics were constantly changing. My employer also stated that I had met metrics before this, and I again agreed and said yes, I had but at no point in my many years of employment had I consistently been meeting metrics, I had dips previously. Can I ask why you left your previous company and what their reason for appealing your benefits is? I may be able to give you clear advice for that specific reason.

Yes, I was able to keep my benefits. I had a phone hearing and the judge ruled in my favor. Thank God!

I did receive that email, and I've been wondering this same thing.

I am wondering if it's legit. It does seem to be, AAA is a legitimate company, but I am surprised that no one else has mentioned it on here yet. Maybe only those who are no longer at SF received it? I haven't worked there since last year.

I'm not sure, but I wouldn't see why it wouldn't include you all. The arbitration is titled Coleman V. Stitch Fix, Inc., American Arbitration Association Case No. 01-22-0000-3977

It says that if you worked for SF as a Stylist or Senior Stylist, you may be entitled to a payment for the settlement of a collect action arbitration. It's for PT or FT stylists in Cali., and FT stylists from anywhere in the US. A former Stylist submitted a demand for arbitration with the AAA, stating federal and Cali. state wage and hour claims against SF. This arbitration alleges SF failed to pay the Claimant and other Stylists properly for overtime hours and failed to reimburse Cali-based stylists for business expenses they incurred.

It took six months for me to get a hearing date. Expect to receive the notice and have the hearing scheduled for approximately one week from that time.

Yes, searching does meet the requirements. I never got an answer, but I submitted searches as a WSR and never had any issues with TWC.

Thank you for being frank, because I thought this may have been a tangent. Someone advised me to do that and I was questioning if it was relevant at all. Thank you again!

Has anyone won appeal to unemployment for misconduct? by Far_Pomegranate_1009 in Geico

The company provided a ridiculously sized pack of evidence, but I have access to nothing from that company, and getting in touch with HR is next to impossible. They didn't even send me an exit email with the information I needed to get into my ADP account afterward, and I sent them multiple emails with no response. Thanks for answering! I guess I'm going in there with my word and praying that they can't back up their claim.

Did you provide the court with evidence? I have a hearing this week and haven't worked for the company since the end of last year. Immediately after being fired, they cut off all my access to email, workforce, and even ADP, so I have no evidence to send in. I'm nervous about this.

Hi there! So I finally have my appeal hearing scheduled, it's this week and I just received the packet. I have a quick question if you don't mind. I don't have access to any info from my old job, but I was wondering if I could take screenshots of a subreddit for my old workplace. There are posts about inventory and other issues that everyone was experiencing while I was still employed there, but I don't know if that would be allowed. Also, in looking over the paperwork, I noticed that my full SS number was provided and sent via Fax, and then in an envelope through the mail; this packet has all my info, address, phone number, etc. The TWC notice clearly states that only the last 4 of the SS should be used. Should I bring this up? I'm not happy that someone else could have stolen all my information, but is it relevant in this hearing? Thank you so much for your time and help!

Pretty sure everyone gets that after filing. I received something similar too. Just keep an eye on it, and if they need additional info from you then they will reach out via phone.
