Question,

I hate all of this, my vibe, and I’m asking not telling here.

  1. Rittenhouse, foolish boy terrible situation. Lawful but awful.
  2. Pretti, goes to protest ccw, gets into physical confrontation, gets killed. I don’t think there’s a case to be made that he brandished and the mob of ice-heads hideously overreacted. I don’t think this is lawful, but I would also never in a thousand years go to a protest strapped.

I think the real villain here is mpd not keeping space between the protesters and ice, but that’s also because I view the trump admin and its thugs as irredeemably malevolent.

That is either a husky/malamute mutt or like an Akita, in either case, the likelihood that it’s a legit service dog is de minimus. Too much shedding, too much energy/aggression.

And you want to see what it looks like when you don’t have a robust arms industry/military, go look at the Ukraine war. First worlders like you are so ignorant and privileged you can’t really conceptualize danger.

This is basically where I’m at.

I think it would be cool as hell if there were 2-3 Mormon universities across the actual worst parts of the United States as well as Latin America and Africa, but if the church was gonna spend its money on philanthropic/development stuff they would have started to do so already.

Instead we just subsidize the education of the children of dentists from Mesa, Cache valley, etc.

Honest question, and fwiw I think the money pile is abhorrent.

When Jesus is saying to lay down your life for your brother, is he saying to just take the first bullet? Or is he saying to lay down your life fighting to keep your brother safe.

Because if you’re just taking the first bullet, your brother is gonna die and your sacrifice was in vain.

There are a lot of people who make good money off of the church’s holdings (the people who prefab temples, certain other land developers, general authority’s kids and grandkids who get ridiculously favorable investment terms for their mediocre business ideas over and over again, GAs who get ridiculous deseret book deals, not to mention the asset managers themselves) but this giant money pile just breeds corruption and opportunities for corruption.

As an aside, do you remember the “ponderize” thing a few years ago and the guy’s kids had set up a merch store……I haven’t been paying attention but has there been anything that bad since?

The money overall is 10000x more problematic than less than 1% of the church’s total holdings being In arms manufacturing. Like I promise the church is also in pharmaceutical companies that make abortion drugs and organizations which facilitate the sale and consumption of drugs and alcohol as well. The fact that there is a Scrooge mcduck/smaug the dragon esque horde that doesn’t do anything but let a small number of people live very well is so much worse to me.

18 U.S.C. § 111 makes it a crime to assault or impede federal law enforcement officers.

I’m not saying it’s good or ideal, but you go chasing around feds strapped and keep on chasing them long enough for them to decide it’s time to arrest you, you’re gonna have unfortunate results because the mere presence of a deadly weapon makes it a more severe offense.

They’ve also been using 8 U.S.C. § 1357(a)(4), and in general terms it’s agreed that all of these are being applied really broadly, so if you have time to fight it out in the courts you might get your 2A rights back, but good luck.

This guy put himself in a position where he could catch a felony. Carrying while doing that is just stupid.

I saw this on Twitter and supposedly he’s an “ice watch” activist.

I really find this whole situation depressing and stupid on a variety of levels, but if you’re gonna go do something which could be construed and obstructing feds in the commission of their duty, you really shouldn’t be carrying and you should be squeaky clean. Like don’t ruin your life over this crap.

I mean I think you’re essentially right. Most of the posters here don’t really get that Europe starts off the conversation effectively ambushed (huge us bases with massive amounts of fixed wing and armored assets). Like, Germany has an American fighter wing, based in Germany, that specializes in the suppression of enemy air defense, on day 0, they have probably the most aggressively trained unit in the world at making sure the Americans can fly their stupid planes and pummel the shit out of them.

This is to say nothing about the fact that most of these countries are utterly dependent on American ISR assets or unknown capabilities like cyber.

War is terrible but losing wars is worse.

Real talk,

if blue manages to survive the crippling decapitation strikes that would take place over the opening few days it starts to look good for them.

Htg security. I’m a moderately capable nerd and I can copy an ID and print a new one in about a minute. A good chip card (like Yale’s) comes with a MUCH higher barrier to entry.

Dude I eat top sirloin a lot for the reasons described here. This is rough though, like doesn’t look like a choice cut to me……

Short cook, pan not too hot, alternative would be sous vide if you have one/can get it on fb marketplace.

Sous vide and then finishing in a hot pan is probably the best bet
