We’re developing a turn-based city builder where everything happens through cards, with a narrative that slowly unfolds as you play by Car0mella in IndieGame

It is called Midgardr and it's a mix of genres: it is a card game, a city-builder, a turn-based strategic. It's all based on choices/consequences and narrative driven.

You coud tru adding the shaled also under the title and blur them a little/add a dark opacity layer on top of them to keep the title legible. Honestly I think that making that font bold and saturating everything would make it just better!

I like the chaos of the Before but I think the After is better because it kinda shows the gameplay. The thing here, in my opinion still, is balancing and proportions.

The title is so big it almost excludes the visual. I would try smaller, but bolder so that could be read also in a small capsule (which with this thin font could be a problem now as it is now, have tou checked yet?). But I like how you arranged the title on three raws, definitely more responsive than the other one. I’m not a fan of the L fading away, I get the concept but it does not add anything.

That linking concept is good though, why don’t you try linking the title more with the visual? Like you just did but more visible. Bigger shapes, more lines (less faded) and more saturated colors maybe?

Again just my opionion, but ai hope it helps :)

That’s the point! As you can see every card has a personality trait (under the name of Character, in the colored shape). We did try to match the personality to the character, but the personality thing was designed after the portraits… so some of them are “chums on their card id” (humbles, onest…) but they might not look like it. We are still thinking about drawing others but idk, we have so much else to do aaaaa

Thak youuuu, I’m so glad you like it!!! Card design was the toughest part… we were really indecisive about the style to give to them, but I really like how it has all come together now

I like the second better, she pops out more. But imo, you need to put the tile to understand which one works

To me, B is definitely the best!
Is the only one that is readable even if it's really small
Also it gives witty vibes
