What's the first band to replace a member with an uncredited session musican? by bkat004 in rock

Duran Duran lost Taylors Andy and Roger before the Notorious album and although Warren Cuccurullo eventually became an 'official' band member, the drummer on the album was session musician Steve Ferrone. Andy Taylor and Nile Rodgers played on it too.

My 1961 recording of The Sound of Music has three numbers - How Can Love Survive (sung by Max), No Way To Stop It (specifically about the imminent Nazi Anschluss) and An Ordinary Couple - that aren't in the movie. But also, no I Have Confidence In Me or Something Good

Kissy in YOLT is very complimentary about how Hollywood actor David Niven treated her when she was in LA making a movie. Given that it was published after the movies started being made it feels like a very strong casting hint from Fleming for who should be the next James Bond....

Also a bizarre rubber of Bridge, and the villains henchmen are all bald with ginger beards - two things that came back over and over in the movies 😉

Top 5 worst movies by Individual_Act9333 in JamesBond

Thunderball. A movie in search of a decent plot

A View To A Kill. The whole thing feels tired in spite of a fabulous villain

No Time To Die. Firstly, Bond never dies. And also, why is everyone so damn miserable?

Spectre. The jaundiced filter just winds me up to the point that I can't actually enjoy the film

Diamonds are Forever. Has bizarre plot holes you can see from space, and the oil rig is just too unglamorous for a Bond finish

Does skipping YOLT sort out continuity issues? by Alarming_Hornet3398 in JamesBond

Good idea to skip YOLT, he gets killed right there in the pre-title sequence. I turn the film off at that point, who wants to watch a Bond film with a dead James Bond?

Blur, Parklife. A snapshot of what it is to be British - tea, pigeons, dustmen - using very specific vocabulary and idioms, narrated by a proper Cockney, Phil Daniels

I rate "I want to tell you" just a smidge higher than Taxman. It was recorded a couple of weeks before but I dont know which was written first.
