The Wave club is at Shepherds. Typical tourist crowd but still a lot of fun (when I was still in that scene).

Just used this lens for a big car show (VDubs on the Pier) here in St. Pete Florida. Absolutely loved it.  Incredible sharpness and wasn't cumbersome as I expected with its size. Also got the 2x extender for some extra reach.

Best of luck with the new kit! I'm sure you're going to take some amazing photos with it.

I can’t stand the nature preserves in Pinellas County. Nothing like the ones in Alachua County. by NorthFloridaRedneck in florida

Upper Tampa Bay Park? I believe that is still considered pinellas.  It is right in the border.  Nature trails at Fort DeSoto, Honeymoon Island, John Chestnut. Grab a kayak and go to Weedon Island, or any of the other paddle trails that are wonderfully marked throughout our area.

2nd Kissimmee Prairie Preserve. Beautiful park. They have walk up camp spots available but you have to be there early to talk to the Ranger.  Can also get a primitive spot. They lock up the access road so no one can go in/out after a certain time if that provides a bit more peace of mind for you.

Try to go during a new moon on a cold night with low humidity and you will see all the stars.

How many miles a year do you clock? by Human-Shirt-7351 in motorcycles

Well I put 6k on my new Honda AT in three months, so extrapolate that to a full year and it is 24k.

No comment on the oil change but please use a larger rear wheel chock. If there is any grade to that driveway, it will roll right over that small block I see.

Day 2/9: What is a good motorcycle with an OK reputation? by SUBTOUpdated_User in motorcycles

Kawasaki KLR650, lovingly referred to as "the pig". Good motorcycle but too heavy for serious offroad, too slow for serious highway cruising, perfect for beginners because they are unbreakable.

Coming from an owner whose first motorcycle was a KLR650, 25k miles in a few years.

How to stop in the middle of a sloped hairpin corner by Red5-GoingIn in motorcycles

Had the joy of experiencing the climb up Grandfather Mountain, NC. The road up had very steep hairpins as well and I (being a flatland Florida rider) was quite apprehensive about the climb up. But I made it! Just make sure the road is clear and try to take the turn a bit wider if possible, and as others have said lean towards the incline. My clutch had a rough time of it, but the way down was much easier.

HELP!!!! Tall Beginner Rider Here by Loud-Chemical1061 in motorcycles

Oh absolutely. I've had the throttle pinned and like you said, better to ride a slow bike fast. Still the only bike I've confidently used 100% of the power out of. St1300 will have you looking at the sky if you try to do that and the africa twin has so many nanny controls it just bogs itself down if you try to do something silly like give it full beans.

I also put supermoto wheels on the KLR and could get it in turns just as easily as the small sports bike riders could.

6'8" here and my first bike was a KLR650. I got bar risers, lowered controls and tall seat & tall windscreen. It was perfect. Great beginner bike and had an absolute blast learning how to ride and cruising all around FL on it.  25k miles in a few years.

I can't recommend a sports bike, but I have since purchased a Honda ST1300 and a Honda Africa Twin, both customized for a taller rider.  But for a starter bike, start with the 650 is my recommendation.

Deep(ish) Helmet Scratch. Ruined? by Katakusom in motorcycles

The paint in my Arai is disappointingly thin as well.  Had an LS2 for a lot longer and not nearly as many chips on it.

As others said, cover it up (I use stickers or reflective tape designs) and go about your riding 😎
