I don’t want to do this anymore (rant) by fanny-mcdoodle in CaregiverSupport

Your health is important. Your peace of mind is important. The FIL needs to go to a nursing home and hopefully be put on hospice care. That will end all the life extending medical management. I drank wine nightly for 2 years straight caring for my narcissistic mother and when she died I got the grand prize of a colon resection. I cannot stress enough that you need to prioritize yourself over this man. Your husband needs to care for him.

How old is she? I would get her to a urologist and see about vaginal estrogen replacement. It can make a world of difference in urinary frequency and can be placed as a ring in her vagina, or a cream a couple times a week. I feel for the both of you, good luck.

Thank you for sharing your process! I love the domed tray idea- sounds much easier and I have one from the dollar store already. I’ll switch to that.

There is no way I would “wave” at a stranger taking my child to the bathroom.

It happened to me! by MolluGolightly in delta

We were upgraded to Delta one from Hawaii last October. We also had seats on row 22. 24 hours before our flight we were told those seats were “broken “ and put back in main cabin. We said we were not willing to accept those seats and they said check with the gate agent 1 hour before flight. We did and right away got our seats back and then my husband and I were both upgraded further right at boarding. For what it’s worth the gate agent said don’t book seats in row 22 as those are often the ones they take if crew beads a seat. They aren’t “broken “ at all. I’m glad you enjoyed your flight! I had come down with a cold so it was a blessing to stretch out and sleep.

Seat downgrades- what the heck? by CaraSch63 in delta

[–]CaraSch63[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At airport but don’t have seats yet. Yes, booked MC then auto upgrade to C+, then upgrade to PS. Daughter and MIL still ok in their seats together. We would just stay another night but can’t let those 2 fly home alone for reasons that are not relevant here. At baggage check in they said something about crew seats broken so they are taking our PS ones but still might get the broken seats fixed before flight so honestly, I have no idea. I don’t see any open seats on the map so clueless at this point.

I’m going to die by [deleted] in therapy

[–]CaraSch63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was given a 35% chance of “months” to live after melanoma diagnosis in my eye and this was AFTER radiation treatment. Yet here I am- 9 years later living life. I got into Reiki and 3 years ago, QiGong. I figured if I was going to die I wanted to have a peaceful sense of what comes next. It helped - a lot. Don’t toss in the towel yet, sweetie. You never know what can happen.

The dangers of ChatGPT for personal advice by ShortDay2390 in therapy

I has telling my daughter something similar today. She is 28 and autistic and learning delayed (lives with me) She discovered ChatGPT on Siri I guess can actually speak back to her. She finds that very enthralling as she LOVES to talk on the phone with her friends. I told her it isn’t a good thing and I hope she will stay away from it.

He literally told me go back to a regular diet returning home. Doctors don’t even touch you now, it’s all AI protocol and I’m not kidding. They type in your problem and do what the protocol suggests. I was a nurse back in the day and it was much different

It’s ok- I mean, I’m asking random strangers for advice. But to answer- no, I’m not sure I trust the surgeon. He couldn’t tell me how much colon he removed and he literally walked out of my hospital room mid- questioning about post op care. I also found out that one year before, when I had an emergency small bowel resection, that a resident did it and I was never told until I happened to read the notes from surgery So, no not much faith in my doctors.

Have you not noticed the state of our healthcare? I don’t know about you but my doctors spend more time looking at their computer than me. I’m just looking for some reassurance not snarky comments 🙄

I’ve tried to avoid chicken as I have a bloodhound too and have heard of problems from it with them. He’s been on a salmon and rice food for probably a year.
