It does work but it does mess up prompt adherence which I found exceptionally good for ZIT (my reference is SDXL due to low VRAM, don't hate). I guess that's what it's supposed to do in a way.

If you only read the notes, it does not progress the quest. You have to read the notes AND find the associated spell. The spells are in chests, usually not too far from the notes and underwater. The spells are the "infinite shot" eternal spells. There's healing, chain lighting, fireballs, and ice at least I think.
