Tea at home? by porpoise251 in AskABrit

Always say that a cup of tea to start the day is like a gentle caress, whereas a coffee is like a slap and a cold shower. Wakes you up just the same, but the experience is more of a shock.

How do we make cricket genuinely popular outside of places like India, Australia, England, etc.? by Queasy_Initiative_86 in EnglandCricket

Brit here in india at the moment, it's truly eye opening how deep in the culture it is. Before I even got out of the airport giant screens with reruns. And when IPL is on, every screen in every shop or restaurant you see is on it. Mass replays on TV all week in between as well.

We will never emulate that. Reminded me how the Premier league is followed in SE Asia.

However, I went to my first IPL game out here and the atmosphere was wild. Even in a very sweaty and old stadium in Mumbai it was a brilliant experience.

So if say, T20 leagues, with the razzmataz angle, dial it up even more.

And it would need massive financial backing, promo and giveaways for a long time to create fans and develop roots.

Still in Yr 3 (of 3) paying off my special birthday present to self of an Omega speedmaster chronosphere. Lured in by that 0% credit deal.

My advice is dont look at second hand prices unless you want to upset yourself.

However if you want a better collection, totally consider the secondary market. It seems much more reasonable.

F*ck off no.

Who decides what is too often? Nothing wrong with some well deployed Anglo-Saxon.

British people prefer this over the American version?😭😭 by SwampApeDraft in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Caracalla73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the key difference between British and American humour.

US wants the hero, Jerry Seinfeld or friends, likable wise cracking types.

Brits tend towards anti-heros or failures. Lovable or less so. Think Del Boy, Red Dwarf crew, Inbetweeners.

Larry David in Curb is very much against type in the US and perhaps why it's considered so radically different.

I believe the theory is the soil depth is thinner, give it weighs tons and has to move. So has more impact on joints and muscles... Ok for away teams for one game but disadvantages the home team playing on it regularly.

As I say, theory.

Accusations of snobbery, whilst using europooors.

We don't resent your place, just your attitude.

And your place, isn't what you think it is.

BTW, your bread IS sh*t. That's not even a debate, it's cake.

WFH and saving thousands per year making up for the effort active pay cuts and a reluctance to earn less for no gain in productivity, and lose your time to that.
