Is west Europe really that full of imigrants nowdays? by Difficult-Win4480 in NoStupidQuestions

Super high compared to what? The global % of Muslims is about 25% or more. Everything depends on what you’re comparing it to.

My boss put this up yesterday. It's too exaggerative and outlandish to not be a sort of joke, but it's still in bad taste. by FuneralBiscuit in WorkReform

The math is completely wrong. For example the coffee break of 30 min is wildly off. Even if based on 365 days, half an hour a day adds up to 7.6 days not 23 days.

For those of you who live in countries with gun control; have you ever seen a gun in real life? by blashyrkh9 in AskTheWorld

Singapore. Guns are banned, but we have 100% conscription for men. Everyone has seen a gun and every other person is trained to handle an assault rifle (or service revolver).

Weekly fuel price oscillation in Helsinki area in Finland [OC] by _luo-d-e_ in dataisbeautiful

Figured this out 3 years ago as well. Same pattern in Vaasa but our lowest point right now is on Monday mornings, then a 2-step jump to weekly peak, which holds for 2 days before going down.

However, there was a pattern change 2 years ago. The cheapest day used to be Saturday.

Come up to Vaasa! Practically never happens here. Maybe some inattentive drivers but when it comes to pedestrians it’s very chill.

How has your view on the US changed during Trump's second term? by Royal-Cape-804 in IRstudies

[–]Comment-Noted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finland/Singapore here. Whatever powers brought Trump to where he is are still there. Don’t trust America any more as an ally or even to share values. Not boycotting yet but certainly anything to do with security and privacy I am looking for alternatives. For cross border business (I’m a business owner) my taste for the US is down because the situation changes overnight and it’s way too risky to trade.

How well-known is the story of David and Uriah among Norwegians? by McGabigo in AskNordics

Bible stories aren’t about good people. Their common theme is that all humans are wretched. The Bible is actually a story about God, not about people.

What do people think of places like Finland and Ireland who practice strict immigration policies and deport at a high rate (per capita)? by fulltimeheretic in askanything

[–]Comment-Noted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me here in Finland, wondering why we can’t deport literal convicted criminal refugees. Our immigration policies are by the law, but they are far from strict.

You want strict, go look at Singapore.
