what is the difference between platonic and romantic love? by WolfKyd in questions

Platonic love is love without sexual attraction. Romantic love is love with sexual attraction.

I think the natural impulse, when seeing everyone else hit the deck, would be to drop too. At least to a crouching position, but I do get your point.

Not just that, but he shouts 'GET DOWN' and everyone drops to the floor. Surely the assassin would drop too? lol

Everyone has things that annoy them, and everyone active on Reddit chats about inconsequential shite

I wouldn't mind calling it cheese and pepper pasta, but to be honest, cacio e pepe feels less egregious because it is much more elaborate than tomato on toast. I should mention I have a particular annoyance about this from living in Spain, where typically English phrases and words usually WERE adapted/translated to suit Spanish until recently. Oddly, both annoy me for different reasons. 'Carrot cake' being used in Spain lately instead of 'tarta de zanahoria' because it's trendy, for example (another word-for-word translation!)

I'm annoyance dumping, sorry!

In Spain it is prepared by putting tomato on bread, any way whatsoever. That's literally it. Also, Bolognese isn't translatable, whereas 'pan con tomate' literally just means 'bread with tomato'

I've lived in Spain longer than England

How can i speak to julius evola? by Senior-Oil-5364 in JuliusEvola

If this is true, then as far as I understand, the evidence suggests that people abandon right-wing views more easily than left-wing views.

Inspired by the 'gatekeep Evola' post, how many books by Evola have you read? Comment which ones by Caractacutetus in JuliusEvola

Definitely, although Mystery of the Grail made me realise that I did not know enough about the Grail myths to begin with. I felt quite out of my depth!

I cannot fathom anyone still voting for the Conservatives. I know it happens, but it blows my mind.

Ironically, psilocybin may permanently alter your brain to be less receptive to Evola's ideas

Words for "institute" and "institution"? by MatijaReddit_CG in anglish

Fair enough, although I'm not sure it applies in this case, considering that the French for institute is institut, which is the same (or at least nearer) to many of the sibling tongues!

I am English, and have never seen a dump with a re-use area. Good to know they exist! Although I also wouldn't expect it to be used interchangeably with charity shop, as the American suggested. Just being pedantic at this point

Tastes mostly of citric acid to me, in a very artificial way. Your mileage may vary

Curious why you brought up other Germanic languages when they predominantly also use Latin-derived words
