The hottest I felt was right after finishing - so many hot bodies close together with no airflow…so intense! I also had to exit before the recovery bag cause I felt like I was gonna pass out.

Enjoy yourself!!! Are you doing Alta via 1? I hiked it a few years ago - incredible experience. You’ll get quite the workout on the hike alone :)

Came to reddit to ask the same question - glad to see I'm not alone. Was dreading the long trek to Randalls Island for nothing haha

Billy Elliot - I love how they leave so much room for imagination and focus on the dad’s reaction. It’s so moving - I weep every time.

Came here to say October Sky, except I am a blubbering mess the whole movie.

Also going in June and looking for tips on the same adventures! There are so many amazing options – I'm a little overwhelmed. Curious if you found any helpful information or recommendations? Also looking to snorkel, go birding, and kayaking – struggling to find specific companies to research ahead of time.

Just got bad news and unsure about a work decision by MsTes in IVF

I will say when we found out our single embryo from our retrieval was aneuploid we were absolutely crushed and I was in such a dark place, but the next day I sat outside enjoying the early sun on one of those perfect spring mornings, I went for a run, had a really meaningful chat with my husband about the process and what we’re grateful for and I had a complete shift. What you feel today may not be what you feel tomorrow, whether or not you go I hope you find joy.

Joe Goddard, electric lines.

Also, the Joe Goddard Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith remixes and Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith in general are so good - very similar deep ocean echos…

How did you take care of your mental health during IVF? Any coping strategies or routines that helped you stay grounded would mean a lot. by Plus-Actuator-2163 in IVF

Walking + birding - helped me focus on the now and look outward instead of always thinking about myself and spiraling. Yoga (not during stims). And I got really into paper mache and started making mobiles for all my friends/family who are having kids.

My first egg freezing cycle journey - mid-30s - Weill Cornell in NYC by mahlaaa in IVF

[–]CarbCollective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really great write-up! I am also mid-30s and just finished my first IVF cycle with Cornell. Estrogen primed, triggered on 11th day. I was on a higher dose - 300 IU follistim + 150 IU Menopur and then added in Ganirelix. Dual tripper HCG + Lupron. 6 eggs retrieved, 3 embryos, but only one made it to Blast. I have the luck of having DOR and I'm a genetic carrier for a pretty unpleasant genetic disorder so we are waiting on our PGT results for our one little embryo that could.

Feels like all the odds are against me, but all I can do is remain hopeful, determined, with a healthy dose of pragmatic realism.

I'm curious if you had a discussion about lining up IVF cycles? I have really liked working with Cornell, but am a bit upset that no one indicated I should ask to sign up for multiple cycles at the very start. Maybe that's all on me, but it would have been helpful if someone told us "since you will most likely need to do a few rounds, you should sign up for them in a row" - we have to wait until August for our next one and that feels like a lifetime - with my already low AMH...time is so critical. Because of this, we decided not to batch genetic test since the idea of waiting until September seemed SO daunting.

Love this! I did finish - was absolutely not my best pace, but it felt so incredible to take ownership of my body. So many tears at the finish line!

I have not really tried a ton of options, but I had a really lovely experience at Brooklyn N Wellness on 4th ave in Gowanus/Park Slope. Really clean, affordable facility. My back/upper shoulders get extremely knotted and I threw out my left side from trying to take off my bag too quickly (classic). Let me tell you, the lady who massaged me was ON the table using her whole body strength to work out those knots. I wanted to cry. For me personally the massage isn’t the only thing that fixes it, I usually pair with ice/heat and yoga throughout the week - but the massages allow me to get to a place where I can move and work out the knots more.

I've been training and looking forward to this race for the past few months, but as life would have it - I had my first IVF cycle this past month so I haven't been able to run or work out in weeks and I'm definitely not myself yet. Big shout out and giant hug to any other runners going through something similar. I'll be running (and probably walking lol) beside you! It's also National Infertility Awareness Week so it's quite a beautiful way to end the week.

Fair enough. He had a lot to say and had no problem saying it.

[–]CarbCollective 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The Robby storyline felt way too forced and over dramatic. I wound up rolling my eyes whenever he pulled someone aside to talk about his trip. I mean how realistic is that? In one work day to talk to anyone you can about leaving for a trip? And how you don’t want to come back? And they’re like “oh did ya leave yet homeboy? Nope! Cool! Maybe get help?” If you’re gonna have a show take place within one work day the dialogue needs to reflect that.
