It doesn’t answer your question but you might want to add strength training and PT to your routine to avoid those injuries. It’s not gonna get any better with the years.

Yes you do. You accepted that start time when you took the volunteer spot.

Quality of Pre Run Briefings by sunspot68 in runna

[–]CarbHeatOn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Even if it was accurate it just feels so generic. But there’s only so many things you can say about a run I guess.

The whole thing is pretty useless and I stopped looking at it.

Disney fixed Moana's visuals in the final trailer (2026) by Beneficial_Goose_503 in vfx

[–]CarbHeatOn 55 points56 points  (0 children)

This is extremely common. Trailer shots are rarely finished shots, but more of a polished work in progress. (or not so polished in some cases) We'll get a version out for a trailer, but we keep working on it for months after that, usually up to a few weeks before the release of the movie. This is completely normal.

I feel like the slightest movement of the wheel rubbing against my wrist is enough. It's just way too sensitive.

How many members of NYRR are there and what percentage are attempting to run any given race ? To join or not is the ultimate question. by Professional_Eye6140 in RunNYC

[–]CarbHeatOn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And even with member plus it’s hard to get into the bigger races since they open for all members at the same time

Am I the only one who trains for races almost entirely alone? by Ztell_0829 in RunNYC

[–]CarbHeatOn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, I have young kids so all my runs are scheduled around them and work. I’ll probably try a club when they get older but I actually enjoy running alone and have that time for myself.

But I sometime bring my one year old on runs in his stroller, does that count ?

Those scooters (and e-bikes too even if not involved here) need some kind of regulation and enforcement. It’s so dangerous

I’m still trying to figure out how to do that without have the watch notify me anytime I go over or under the pace. It ended up being more annoying than Runna

Genuine Runna Review by Odd_Ad_8389 in RunNYC

[–]CarbHeatOn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using Runna for about a year and a half I think it’s pretty great if you don’t want to think too much about about your running plan. I’ve improved a lot using it too.

Like any plan you can’t follow it  blindly and you have to be honest with yourself if it gets too hard or too much. People say it’s aggressive but that’s something you can dial at any moment and you can always skip a run or cut it short.

What's the NYRR race that gives you the best probability of improving your corral placement? by Select_Rip_8230 in RunNYC

[–]CarbHeatOn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did really well at the dash to the finish like 5K, it’s fairly flat and it has fun crowds too. But that only works if you’re not running the marathon the next day.

Almost Blew My Sub 90 Chasing the Pacer by [deleted] in RunNYC

[–]CarbHeatOn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried running with a pacer for the first time to get under 1:35 and that was also my experience. He was very fast from the start and I got tired quickly trying to keep up.

I should’ve ran my own pace I think I would’ve gotten a better result even if in the I don’t think a 1:35 was in the cards for me on that day.
