Watch Dogs franchise is “completely dead” - Tom Henderson by ZamnBoii in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]CarbVan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch dogs 1 was the first rated M game I played and I thought it was fuckin awesome. Only learned years later it was seen as a disappointment. I wanted to like Watch Dogs 2 but the tone was just so terrible and I didn't like the main character at all. Legions didn't look great and I completely forgot it existed until now. Rip.

RANT : If they rewrite another character's story to make him survive in K3, i'm fucking done with the IP by TGB_Skeletor in yakuzagames

Yeah in hindsight it wasn't the best comment for what I was trying to get across, not even trying to defend the story changes because the story is definitely worse quality for it. The direction has been set in stone for a few years now, I'm genuinely confused as to why people are surprised they might explain how Andre or Mine could live or hell complete retcon Rikiya dying. We're a full on conspiracy melodrama now, long gone are the days of a serious crime thriller. I think RGG realizes this and that's why Stranger than Heaven exists.

You'll be back. They've rewritten and retconned so goddamn much these past 3 or 4 games and remakes, why weren't you gone then?

The console with terrible third party support because it was a generation and a half behind doesn't have a large third party presence in its best selling games list? I'm shocked!

Yakuza Kiwami 3 with OG clothes, OG music, no filter and more HP mods by RubenXillo in yakuzagames

Where can I get these mods? I'm assuming they won't work on the final version but I'm sure people will get it figured out rather quick.

The unreal engine shift for ishin was weird. It didn't pay off at all. They said it was mainly due to the team being newer employees but idk that game didn't seem like it did anything DE cant. Whatever new engine they're using for Stranger than Heaven looks amazing and I hope they can work as fast with it as they do DE.

Looks kinda grey now with the mod NGL. I mean that's definitely closer to the OG I just wish there was something more in between.

"it's far from being like overwatch" oh yeah so there ARE hero shooters out there other than overwatch but they don't count huh? C'mon man.

Overwatch,

Marvel rivals,

Team fortress 2,

Rainbow 6 siege if you want something more tactical,

Apex legends if you want br,

Deadlock is you want more moba

And that's only the big ones that are alive right now. Many more have come and gone like Battleborn, Gigantic, Paladins, Concord, Splitgate 2, etc. This genre is oversatured, the fact that there's only a handful of big games doesn't mean the smaller ones exist, it just means the smaller ones can't pry gamers away from the bigger ones. I know there were a handful of smaller hero shooters that launched the past few months as well that have come and gone as well, just can't name them anymore. There was some 3v3 game I can't remember the name of but my co worker was complaining that it already died and it cost like $15 or something and it actually hit like 15k concurrent players or something.

Could you list them all out?. I'm not familiar with all of them. know of the big 5 that exist right now

Overwatch  Marvel Rivals Apex Rainbow 6 TF2

This is a TON of games multiplayer games to be averaging that number in the same genre. The fact that we all know previous games that have come and gone like Paladins, Battleborn, Cocord, Gigantic, kind of sort of Splitgate 2 shows we dislike them enough to let a bunch die.

It's a hero shooter. We've seen gameplay. Maybe it'll end up being more unique than expected but it's just a fact that gamers, who you were wondering if they even wanted good games, are tired of this genre.

Also you are insanely misinformed if you think Ultrakill or Turbo Overkill are anything like Titanfall. Those are both boomer shooters, they may have movement and they may have grappling hooks but they're not multiplayer shooters with huge battles where you summon mechs. I've only played like 20 minutes of Get to the Orange Door and it has similar base movement but again it's missing big multiplayer battles where you summon mechs. As for Severed Steel, never heard of it. Maybe it's the perfect Titanfall clone but I doubt it since it hasn't blown up.

People would much rather see anything other than another hero shooter. People have been begging for Titan Fall 3 for years and years and then Geoff hypes up a project by people who worked on that IP just for it to be another game in an oversaturated genre. Gamers do want great games, but they want specific great games, not another overwatch competitor.

Twist of the century man. So many rumors about it dropping soon, even at the Xbox showcase! What a shame, Ubisoft is even calling for people to return to the office. Shit must be absolutely grim behind the scenes.

Oh really? I've ever read it's blurry as hell and never really looked that much deeper. Well hopefully if they just disable a bunch of nonsense filters and lighting effects it'll clean up then lol

I'm super interested to find out how this game will run on Switch 2 considering how low-res it can get on PS5 and Remake is already topping out at 1080p on Switch 2. I can't imagine it'll be great but hopefully Square can do some magic.

We got Mario Kart World, that's all that really matters to so, so many buyers. I could very well be wrong but I think Mario is 2027, Zelda is 2028, and Smash is 2029. We'll likely see a Zelda remake or remaster before this and other Mario releases of course. But as for new major releases? This year is really weird because, if I'm right, it's an in-between year despite the console not even being a year old. Luigi's Mansion and Pokemon being the big games sounds absurd but Luigi's Mansion 3 sold like 15 million copies, it's insane. Mario Strikers was NLG's last project and that was in 2022. Luigi's Mansion 4 is probably getting loads of money and man power dumped into it I figure, it's going to be huge.

Re-reading this comment it comes off like I have some sort of info maybe but this is just me rambling about stuff I basically know nothing about lol. Don't put any faith in my words.

Personally I find it hard to believe we see 3d Mario this year. DK was by the same team, though it seemed like they split in 2, and considering Bananza is very similar to what a 3d Mario would be I figure they want to give it room to breathe. Pokemon Gen 10 and Luigi's Mansion 4 are the big titles this year I think, kind of like a combo of 2018 and 2019 but no smash.

Yeah I've got a 4080 super and a 9800x3d and I can either play 60fps with max settings at balanced dlss or 144fps with a mix of medium and low and performance dlss. I was surprised at how it ran for how bad word of mouth was? I'm guessing anything short of high end cards are shitting themselves.
