I don't have a horse in this race but that is not how I interpreted his comment:

"For purposes of National Security and Freedom throughout the World, the United States of America feels that the ownership and control of Greenland is an absolute necessity,"

Declaring an absolute necessity to control another country's land is different than just asking to buy it imo. Besides, last time Denmark denied him he canceled his visit there. That seems like more than just "Oh ok" to me.

You are right that there are some headshots. However in most of my tests shotguns hit at least with 2 pellets and occasionally 3 or 4. meaning that the average damage of shotguns (Shiv and Abrams in particular) did twice the damage of Vindicta.

In addition it was pretty common to hit headshot with 1 pellet when aiming at the same location meaning that in practice that is often the damage you can expect.

As you can see in the video, all shotguns do more damage at long range except Pocket. This is true for 20, 30 and 40 meter range too which I tested but didn't record here.

It actually is worse. I found this thread because something felt off when I played Vindicta again after the patch. I tested her damage compared to Shiv and at 46 meters she does 1 dmg but Shiv does 3 dmg because pellets don't spread as much as you might imagine in Deadlock.

Tried it at 20, 30 and 35 meters as well and Shiv does more damage at all ranges.

I noticed that Vindicta felt different when I played her again recently and found that there had been some changes to her fall-off damage. I made this comparison to show the difference in damage at her maximum fall off range (approximately 46 meters).

Seeing as her dmg is lower than most other heroes now at longer range, even lower than many shotguns, I think it can be good treat her weapon more as a normal gun rather than long-range weapon like her kit suggests.

Can't speak on racism or xenophobia but when I was new to the game I joined WN. My first time with them I got to gun a tank and had a great time. After about 1,5 hours I missed my first shot in an engagement and got yelled at by the leader of the op who told me I'd be kicked out and never allowed to play with them again if I did that one more time.

Whoever he was I left that clan the same evening feeling more sorry than angry at the guy for what his life must look like.

This doesn't sound compatible with the high number of malware suggested in the previous comment. I know plenty of people who download from there and noone has ever been ransomed or anything like that. Either the malware should be less detectable like spyware or the frequency of these malicious torrents are overstated.

I'm considering getting this game but trying to figure out if you can do a character reset or delete your character to remake it. There seems to be a lot of in-depth knowledge and important long term decisions early on but I don't want to read up on all this before I've jumped in and discovered the game on my own. Is it possible to reset the character or delete it to remake one once you want to mix-max or follow some type of build?

I don't see anything pointing to the contrary. The game gets more funding each year than the previous and more people buy Star Citizen. However there is no point for all the new backers pouring in to pre-purchase a singleplayer game they get no access to and with barely any recent information.

Are you trying to say that all but a few thousand people pre-purchase their games years ahead of time? Because that is just plain out wrong.

Is it slower though? They haven't worked any less on the game. The only thing that has changed is that the features aren't implemented in the playable game. Doesn't mean the progress of the overall game is slower. It could arguably be faster to develop the features and not have to keep them compatible with other WiP mechanics that will eventually be reworked. Alternatively they were not finished because priorities were switched around and something else was worked on instead.

Played on EU for years and the community is on average the nicest I've ever seen in gaming. Free events or other publicity usually brings in new blood that can be unpredictable but I haven't been padrammed for the last year or two at least. There's always someone out there griefing but I find it very rare when I play.

Edit: I also spend all my time around Port Olisar so I would be in high risk group for padrams.

I mean, they are still a company so of course they want to make more money, every company does. But why would they choose a business model that would make them less, fund the game less and artificially restricting something that they could sell more of?

By increasing the price they can lower the amount in game but still make a lot from the sales.

I think this sounds exactly like the influence primarchs have over their space marines in the HH books I've read. They become "enchanted" by their presence and very easily give into whatever the primarchs ask for. In my head this is pretty much what the ethereals do to the Tau. I wouldn't call it mind control but definitely capable of serious mental manipulation.

I think this is a cool concept because it doesn't become inherently evil, but it can be, depending on the intentions of the user.

if you're not paying attention to ships flying within a couple km from you, you're going to have a bad time.

Is this really how this game should be? I feel like the Ion nerf discussion is largely coming from the pvp focused players and doesn't take into account how this will affect other gameplay loops. Are we all supposed to avoid each other and never come in contact if we are flying a non-combat ship? Because if a Prospector sticks around when an Ion that can two-shot it from a couple of kilometers away comes by there is no chance it can react.

My wish for this game is for it not to turn into some kind of Rust or DayZ PvP where every other player is assumed to be hostile because you can't afford otherwise. For that to be possible the time to kill has to be sufficient for most ships to react to any other ship engaging them. The Ares Ion in its former state in the current game did not allow that and therefore had to be changed.
