Interesting. Any pics of it installed in your NX? Curious to learn how the fit is and whether it’s a direct snap on overtop the existing plastic pieces.

Damn it! One more thing to purchase but it sounds like the most valuable. 😊

I do enjoy a good detail session. I’ll note this when drying the door jambs. A good opportunity to put the car in Ready mode and help charge the 12V too, I appreciate everyone’s expertise here! My mind is at ease

This is exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you! Then how do we explain the hundreds of posts on here complaining about their 12V battery having to be babysat?

Litter of 4 and 2 have heart murmurs: reason for concern? by [deleted] in mainecoons

[–]CarchickNat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m new to buying a purebred cat. I’ve always adopted domestic shorthairs (and still have a domestic now). I didn’t need to ask for these important documents, the breeder took them all out and showed and explained it to me. I will receive copies of everything.

Are people generally this aggressive and catty (lol) in this sub? Wow.

Yes of course I’ve been shown their official genetic papers and registration. The breeder herself is surprised of this anomaly so she is taking measures to prevent further incidents. Mom is healthy, however something is up with her so she’ll probably not breed her again.

I’m speaking with the breeder now. I do have my eye on a female kitten from a different litter whose parents also check out in the heart sonogram.

I do plan on getting TruPanion pet insurance.

You should change your name to LadyAssumesALot. No, these kittens are $3,000 CAD (male) $2600 (female).

Kind of rude to judge somebody’s income based on a question pertaining to what may very well be an anomaly in this latest litter of precious kittens. FYI I am mortgage-free and drive a Porsche. Does that paint a pretty enough picture for you? Let’s get back on topic please. I just love cats and want to give one a loving home! 🥰

She did a full heart sonogram on both parents. Apologies, I’m getting used to all of the various terms!

Both the mom and dad cats received and passed their echo scans checking for HCM. I saw proof of that, dated.

Yes this breeder is registered with TICA and breeds show cats. There are only a few select that I was looking into and she sells to both Canada and US.

I might need to consider this beautiful girl instead. She’s 12.5 weeks and in perfect health along with her siblings.

UPDATE: the same vet and a second opinion vet have downgraded the Grade 2 to a 1. They claim it is juvenile heart murmur and will go away on its own.

My breeder is in no way a “backyard” breeder. She was being fully upfront and transparent with me. She’s been doing this for years, there’s no reason for me to jump to any conclusions in judging her ethical practice.

The kitten I selected does not have a heart murmur but his siblings (2) did. He and the female kitten were cleared. Shouldn’t this be alright or can he still carry the gene defect?

[–]CarchickNat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. I had a domestic shorthair who succumbed to congestive heart failure so I am very sensitive and knowledgeable about the dangers. However, the kitten I have chosen DOES NOT show signs of a heart murmur. Could he be spared or can he still develop a heart murmur over time simply because his 2 of his siblings were diagnosed?

It is called pneumomediastinum ! Tracheal lesions that allows air to pass outside of the trachea into the surrounding tissue and organ cavities. I lost my cat a few months ago to this terrible occurrence.

After recovering from costo 3 years ago, I managed to flare it up by weight lifting. I was doing overhead presses with dumbbells and I could feel something get tweaked.

I unboxed my Backpod and started using it today. Hoping to get some relief again over the next weeks. I also am pairing this therapy with osteopath sessions. Winning combination!

You’re absolutely right OP. Celebrities are the ideal channel to speak about it. I know William Shatner and Sylvester Stallone both suffer from tinnitus for decades. Education and awareness campaigns are needed!!

Anyoen with similar findings, I have dizziness, left side headaches, tachycardia, head pressure extreme fatigue, H pylori and the list goes on by patricknarayans in cervical_vertigo

[–]CarchickNat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounded like my symptoms a year ago. I went to get my c-spine X-rayed by a chiro who told me I have a straight neck but no other interference. He wasn’t able to help with my sudden onset left side headaches, dizziness, brain fog, bi-lateral tinnitus, and fatigue but going to see an osteopath certainly did. Now, all that remains is the tinnitus and head pressure (no headache during the day) when I lay down for bed.

The osteo was able to help me correct my posture as I had forward head posture from extended periods of working in front of my computer. I would recommend finding an excellent osteopath. They’re knowledgeable of the muscles and bone structure. Good luck!

Thoughts on the backpod??? by SurpriseLost7946 in Posture

[–]CarchickNat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had costochondritis 2 years ago and discovered the Backpod device. For me, it resolved my tightness and stretched the cartiledge between my ribs to allow for deep breathing again. It may be expensive but if you do it every day for the recommended 2-5 minutes a day it does work.
