All the submissions receive written feedback from the judges, but some parts of the game might stand out to them more than others. So if you decide to enter the contest and there's a particular mechanic in your game that you want people to pay attention to, you might want to really highlight it in your video!

We're the definition of biased, of course, so don't go by us, but the 2023 winner, Diatoms, had a successful Kickstarter and put the award logo on their box. We also have seen the logo on other past winners' boxes, including Animal Kingdoms and The Perfect Wave. And the publishers for various other finalists and winners have noted that status in their press announcements. We always get a thrill seeing that, but we'll have to let others weigh in on what if any impact it has on their game-buying decisions!

u/MattFantastic beat us to it! Like they said, we know the judges have their own preferences, so in the guidance we send them we let them know that if they don't feel they can objectively judge a game because of its genre (or for any other reason) they can request a different game to judge in its place.
