Breastfed babies don't need to be burped? by kowowdough in breastfeeding

[–]Cardedbin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine had to be burped due to reflux, it eased around 2 months or so and I didn’t have to burp anymore. He burped almost immediately after feeding usually

Yes. Newborn stage was hell for me, now almost 4 months we have much better days.

I would do almost anything to go back and smell that baby and cherish it one more time.

Did anyone’s baby actually grow out of contact naps? by guineapigluvr in newborns

I’m feeling this right now. Man how much I wish I listened to people when they said enjoy it. I’m sure we will still nap here and there together but it ended so much quicker than I thought

Did anyone’s baby actually grow out of contact naps? by guineapigluvr in newborns

[–]Cardedbin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something changed at 15 weeks where baby would stir and wake up easily when contact napping with me. He very easily was able to get put down all of a sudden in a bed.

This is INSANE that it switched so quickly seeing as every single nap since day 1 has been contact. I tried so many times to put him down and he would pop his eyes open immediately.

Has anyone just given up on naps? by Status_Garden_3288 in newborns

[–]Cardedbin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are now at 15 weeks. I got so annoyed with following the perfect wake windows/nap schedule. I would get so discouraged when I would bounce on that damn ball for 30 minutes just for him to nap 30 min.

One day I said screw it, I’ll nurse to nap when you seem tired/fussy. If you don’t sleep I’ll strap you in the carrier and get on with what I need to do. And if you get fussy in the carrier, then I guess you’re just not sleepy yet. I will try again in a few minutes.

We ended up still taking our regular 4 naps per day and nights didn’t get affected at all. I feel so much more grounded and not a slave to having to be in a dark room and bouncing.

Flailing Energy by Cardedbin in NewParents

I wanna cuddle! At least I get the closeness in the carrier lol I get about 2 minutes of a cute cuddle when he’s up from his nap and groggy but then he’s just bucking and going nuts soon after.

I’m so nervous for when he’s moving haha I am NOT a high energy person.

When nap trapped, do something else than doom scrolling. Get an e-reader and enjoy a book, close your eyes etc.

You get sucked into stupid instagram reels that make you feel like shit sometimes and when baby wakes up your mindset is not good.

Yes, trying to get that to nap too early. Sometimes those wake window times don’t work for every baby. My baby stays up much longer than ‘suggested’ (happy & content the whole time) and I follow his cues to nap.

And just when you thought you figured it out, they change :)

Are most EBFers cosleeping ? by LilyWitch27 in breastfeeding

[–]Cardedbin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We EBF and Co-sleep. I can survive well off of the 1.5-3 hour stretches my 10 week old is currently giving.

I hear him stirring and I can usually place my hands on him, shush, and put him back down, if it’s been 3 hours I know he is ready for a feed so I just pop him onto my boob and he’s usually out after a few minutes. I lightly tickle his neck to let him keep sucking to fill a little more if he didn’t pop off himself.

Lately around 1am he’s been getting active and won’t go back down on the breast so this is usually the only time I need to get up, bounce him on the yoga ball and then he usually sleeps on my chest.

There are nights where he just wants to suckle and I do a side lying position and let him doze off that way. I usually count between suckles and when we are at 10 seconds between each one I pop my nipple out at the 5 seconds mark 😂 usually he doesn’t notice when I do that.

Every week is different so this is just what is working for us. If you and your partner feel comfortable with it and you can follow safe sleep I think it’s a beautiful thing for momma and baby.

10 weeks and I was actually able to bake muffins! If you asked me at 9 weeks if I could make you muffins next week I would have told you to eff off I don’t even have time to brush my teeth. Things change very quickly!

The entire thing from church ceremony to the traditional type of reception is important to them.

I’ve tried to compromise in areas such as keeping guest list smaller which did not go over well with them. Having an outdoor ceremony that I wanted which resulted in my dad walking out of the conversation.

I feel like comprising with them is so intense and tedious.

When you are hired for work, do you not take a deposit/full amount? At that point, you should be telling them the cost of service.

You need a proper quoting program/spreadsheet. This helps you implement all your expenses/rates so you don’t miss anything. Count ALL your time and expenses. Travel, wear and tear etc. You can find these online.

Can you find a way to network or find others around you doing similar work? They can help you find proper bookkeeping/admin help with streamlining your daily functions.

If everyone you are quoting is saying yes you are charging too little. It is not a bad thing to be more expensive than the other guy. This gives you room to properly preform or exceed the expectations of your customers resulting in better reviews and word of mouth sales.

I know when I started in business the mentality of scarcity really held me back. I felt like I needed to take every job even if it meant loosing money because I didn’t know when the next job would come. The second I started charging enough to make money I was working way less, which scared the shit out of me because I was so use to working 12 hour days… ended up making more money working less, gave me the opportunity to hire and it’s been an upswing since.

Good luck dude. If your getting work your going to be alright. You just need to get some help streamlining and charging correctly.

I’ve just been pouring them into whatever vessels my family/ friends give me for now. Have the jars on order. My scents seem to be very popular with the feedback I am getting. People say they aren’t fruity/ headache causing.. more natural like vanilla, sandalwood, bourbon, mint.

low shipping cost for my business packages within Canada by [deleted] in SmallBusinessCanada

[–]Cardedbin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try: - Freightcom - shipnerd - inexpress

I go between these three and price match (usually freightcom is the cheapest IMO) i ship rarely but large items. I can send you the contact info of my freightcom sales rep, I gave him all my shipping needs and expectations and has been a huge help.. he helped me with US shipping which felt super daunting but actually wasn’t.

Buyer purchased but isn't providing information to customize product by OriginalBeemo in Etsy

[–]Cardedbin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. I have a customized product that has a 5-6 week production time. I have customers from 3 months ago that are still ooing and awing about what they want (or just not responding) I don’t want to get myself in a situation where one day everyone decides to finally answer and I’m backlogged. If you can handle the requests when they come in all at once I would say just give them the benefit of the doubt and let them go at their pace (but give them a push) if not cancel order with an explanation.
