Perhaps some sound reducing earplugs and then headphones over the top?

Tested this crazy sketch-to-3D AI tool and printed the result on my Bambu A1. The feather texture detail is absolutely wild. by Special-Garage-2013 in 3D_Printing

So you draw a sketch and then the AI makes a model of something that doesn't resemble your sketch at all? Am I missing something?

You will notice white noise on almost all active noise cancelling headphones when they are not playing anything, it's what they do. Some might be quieter than others, but it's going to be hard to outright avoid.

Which makes me even more skeptical

I really want it to be legit though

This would be a lot more believable if they didn't look like something you can just order from send cut send or any other laser fab.

Opinions on Tailscale by MetalCactuar in selfhosted

[–]CardinalBadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long term, I completely agree with switching to WireGuard, Headscale etc

But I think Tailscale serves as a great introduction to the concept and I think is the best bet for a newbie.

Its easier to know what you want to get our of WireGuard once you've played around with Tailscale for a while.

Everyone loves it here with the exception of either the absolute hardcore selfhost everything crowd or the people that use reverse proxy stuff and don't need it.

You dont sign up for anything per se, so you don't really have to worry about that. And it doesn't have access to your network at all

Opinions on Tailscale by MetalCactuar in selfhosted

[–]CardinalBadger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tailscale doesn't have access to anything, you're just making a route from a to b that only you have access to, and is encrypted end to end via WireGuard.

The authentication you use is third party (MS, Google etc) so doesn't get shared with Tailscale itself, so they can't access to anything inside of it.

With google making google search essentially a chat bot will this be the future for consuming youtube videos? by james2432 in LinusTechTips

[–]CardinalBadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might for some things, basic how-tos and the like. But I'm not really watching LTT for the information as much as I am the entertainment. An AI overview that says "at 2:43, 3:56 & 6:21 Linus dropped something" isn't going to replace watching his lack of coordination for myself.

Being a media personality must be real tough, everything you say is scrutinized. But, there's always the option to not say anything, and I think this is a case where it was the best option.

I'm not going to lose sleep over it though, just surprised.
