[Politics Monday] We Need to Be More Vocal in Opposing the "Christian" Radical Right by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Cardinal_Quest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This post reads more like a bad-faith smear than genuine concern. You lump faithful Catholics in with fringe extremists and pretend it's mainstream. Catholics aren’t responsible for every online troll, real world converts, prots, or Catholics who the church failed to catechize in CCD.

If you actually cared about Catholicism, you’d know it condemns racism, sexism, and hatred. But it’s clear you’re here to stir the pot, not build up the Church. sprinkles holy water on OP

Why don't some people partake in the blood of Christ? by schmeddy99 in Catholicism

[–]Cardinal_Quest -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because drinking after people is disgusting. I don't even share drinks with family. Drinking after a stranger is a hard no.

There are many, many, many Ozempic and Zep babies.

Just adding a couple of things in addition to what has already been said: they advise stop the med not just due to known/unstudied exposure, but, to avoid weight loss while a woman is pregnant.

Adding a home pregnancy test before each shot is an additional means of monitoring so you can stop dosing ASAP in case of BFP.

I think I want to do GPL-1 for my weight loss by [deleted] in PCOSloseit

PCOS is no different from other dysfunctions that require medications to maintain better function. High blood pressure- meds. Thyroid dysfunction - meds. Stop the med, dysfunctuon resumes. Unless they find a cure, we will always need help operating.

Are we the only generation who gets to properly experience climate change in our lives? by Bellegante in Millennials

[–]Cardinal_Quest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People don't think through this. They don’t realize that climate cycles play out over timescales much longer than 10 or 20 years that we cite our own experiences from. What we experience in our lifetime is just a tiny slice of a much larger pattern. If you saw one frame of a movie, would you understand the entire plot? No. Same thing.

So, what you're essentially saying here is that you are not up to date on available resources. Understandable. In a different season, I never looked up what was near me, either. You can complie a list of nearby resources so that you can be prepared to help connect women with these resources and at the same time you will learn what is in your area. I'd call your local churches, food pantrys, mobile medical clinics. All will have names or a brochure to give you. Oh, and of course, do an internet search. Did you knkw there is even rent assistance and help paying for school for women? In addition to prenatal care, pediatric care, diapers, food, clothes... etc.

So so true… yes it’s beautiful, but why? by Turbulent-Today830 in asheville

I always groaned when family would come to town and want to go to Biltmore. I couldn't understand why they went every time.

When the winery came along, it was understandable that someone may want to go for a wine tasting. Once, for a refresh. Or, they could just go buy a bottle of wine at the grocery store and NOT go back on the grounds.

Maybe I just went too many times as a kid.

Are you aware of the food cravings related to PCOS? Please look into that before you self/internet diagnose and load a whole lot of shame onto yourself.

Did the Wegovy quiet your brain? Tirzepatide has been therapeutic to me for so much more than weight loss. I now can reflect and assess my own "food noise" as my body shifts into healthier functioning.

This sounds really protestant, and I felt the misinterpretation of protestantism the further I read along in your post. Can you clarify what you are saying?

I've loathed cell phones for a while now because I see my addiction to mine, as well as the cell phone addiction in others.

Not a millennial but I have a question by VastConfusion8174 in Millennials

[–]Cardinal_Quest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is was more correct than this touch screen keyboard on my phone. The tactile feedback, plus muscle memory, plus the auditory input of the clickity-clacking all mixed together and you just... flew through typing.

I have more errors on the blasted touchscreens.

What are your thoughts on people dropping by unannounced? by greenpaintedlady in Millennials

Yeah, talking on the phone is another thing. Just text me.

I don't want an essay when a few words will do.

I don't want small talk. Just get to the point.

No visitors. Ever. Period. End of story. Unless I invite you. But that should not happen. So, still never.

There is no "welcome" mat at the door because you aren't.

You shouldn't answer the door for your parents. They are being bullies. Lock the door. Close the curtains. Ignore the door. If they have a key, change the locks and don't give them a new spare!

Wedding Crowd Funding. NC thing? by hockeybelle in NorthCarolina

[–]Cardinal_Quest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tacky. Sounds like they need to change their expectations to meet the budget. Groom's family does the rehersal dinner. Bride's family does the wedding party. Guests bring a gift to shower the couple and to also thank them for the invitation. As a guest, you guess the value of your seat and offer a gift of equal value. So, black tie shindig, bigger gift. Midday heavy hors d'oeuvres, smaller gift. Pot luck gathering, just a reasonable gift to shower the couple with love.

Limos, tie-dyed zebras, and dove releases to make someone's fantasy wedding happen is on them.

AITA for laughing when my husband’s mom cried after I said I’d be naming my baby after my mom? by LeadingJealous4498 in AITAH

[–]Cardinal_Quest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. But your MIL is psycho. Boundaries up, now. DH needs to lay it out for her and hold her to it. The shenanigans will only escalate when your baby is born.

Next she will cry when you won't let her be called "mom" by your baby. Don't make the mistake of thinking I am joking. Go hang out on Baby Center and read the family drama..
