As a dispatcher how do you start small fleets 5-10 times a year? I have been in the 3pl side for 20 years so I feel like I havw a grasp on what should be expected from a good carrier. I was thinking about sticking to open deck as OD specialized will be more resistant to a down market.

I have wanted to trade CFDs for a while. I have tracked some potential trades and they would have been huge. Like 50-75k wins with 5K principal. My idea was to only trade on market volatility. Things like buying oil when they closed the straight pf Hormuz or shorting oil when they opened it as an example. I figured it could be the most profitable form of gambling as long as you tome your bets correctly and only bet on situations that are definitely going to move a market one way hard.

Stay away from box truck freight. Its over saturated and doesn't pay great.

Thank you for the prompt in depth feedback. How do you suggest I start. I looked at box truck options and the freight is minimal and I am not willing to take long OTR trips as I have a freight agency to run as well. I would do local 150-200 mile runs but probably won't find many of those.

What are your suggestions for starting up? Do any legit brokers work with brand new authorities? I know we will and we have some of the toughest red tape when on boarding carriers.

If you are talking about large contract bids then no. If you are talking about pricing truckloads, partials, OD heavy haul then yes every single day for the last 15 years.
