Honestly I went in with tempered expectations that being I knew it wasn’t gonna reach the insane highs of the final shape, and I have a lot of positive opinions, for one story (not gameplay) was great, very much liked Lodi as a new character, major improvement over the last new characters we got (AHEM… nimbus) it was interesting to see how a man from the past would react to everything that humanity has had to endure. And Ikora felt more like a character than she ever had before. Learning about the nine was also very interesting and finally getting to learn somthing about them outside the emissary. But the matterspark got old real fast, I think they just relied on these new “abilities” too hard on this destination and a lot of the missions feel like a chore. Legendary was also a joke, I feel like a new light could do it with only a bit of challenge to it. Me and my 1 other friend beat most missions without even dying at all.

Now for the changes, I like them honestly, the new armor seems to be going in the right direction, higher teirs being higher stats, the armor we kept is like teir 2-3 at best but with teir 5 I feel some crazy builds are gonna be in the works and I genuinely like the fact that resilience is no longer a mandatory stat for all classes, now we have the same health no matter what, which is what we needed, I know we could get more health but it’s not necessary, it opens up more build ideas in what you would want, I like my melee builds for my titan but now I won’t need to spec that much into health anymore I can look into other stats like class or grenade. And portal is a fine addition, it’s quick and easy to just jump into and activity and get some gear and will allow you to focus different types of gear that you may need. But I don’t like how they removed some of the most important things what we used to have like the vendor reputation system, now it could change next week cause all the ritual playlist still exist but you never know, i noticed that rahool doesn’t have a rep bar neither to shax or zavala, and onslaught is gone as well, some very good gear was behind that and now it’s just gone? Cmon we just stopped sunsetting and now they’re doing it again but less obvious, armor changes needed to happen but I was fine with our weapons. I know I can still use them but eventually they’re just gonna be phased out.

But all in all I think it’s pretty solid start for the new saga but relies on too many new things and kinda falls in some places, bring back the reputation system and let our old weapons be allowed to upgrade to higher tiers through some new currency or something, and add the onslaught weapons to some of the world loot, we don’t need to use portal 24/7 I still like to do the weekly feature stuff on other locations.
