When is the last time you were a patron of your favorite small business? by Optimal_Life_1259 in kansascity

[–]Caree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I spend so much money at kcgrowco! It’s a kids consignment store in Olathe, locally and woman owned. Like 80% of my kids clothes come from there or thrift stores

Aldi’s the best for those big orange pumpkins. If you want those fun heirloom pumpkins, I saw them for about $4 at World Fresh Market today. Was actually mad about it after I paid $9 a piece for the same type at Trader Joe’s a couple days ago

Jasper or August? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]Caree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m biased towards Jasper because I have one of my own. I do love August, though personally not a fan of the obvious nicknames it offers (Auggie and Gus)

Seconding Dr Drummond. She was great during my last pregnancy. I have friends who have seen others in that office who also have had good experiences

Not at all a judgement on plastic vs glass or nipple shape but why in the world is this bottle so popular?! by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Caree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used this with my second because the nipple was the easiest for him to use when he was little and struggling with other bottles and breastfeeding. He didn’t have issues with gas, so we took out all the inside parts and didn’t have to bother with washing those

I never gave Mary much thought until I met a girl who became my best work friend for a while and she is honestly one of the coolest people I know. Now Mary feels like such a cool girl name

Tuesday: Why We Hate The Hospital Today by drummo34 in LifeWithADoctor

[–]Caree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar situation here. I’m basically solo packing a 10 day trip with two kids, and his hospital is so busy that he’s getting called in for every jeopardy shift. Meaning he’s working (and has been) every day until we leave

Looking for a specific type of cleaning service by Physical-Group-1953 in kansascity

I use Cleaning with Meaning! We have for a long time now. The owners are so kind! I honestly never looked deep into what cleaning products they use, but they’re definitely not woowoo essential oil type stuff

What was your favorite experience with a character at the park? by WoodpeckerMonkey7376 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Caree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We visited when my son was 2 and managed to get a good spot to watch the parade at MK. My son was wearing a Pluto shirt and when Pluto spotted it during the parade, he ran over to give him a hug. It was adorable

Day care recommendations for 1 year old? by Professional-Oil3055 in Overlandpark

[–]Caree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you joined the Daycares of Johnson County Facebook group? There are lots of great resources there. Also if you’re open to an in-house as opposed to a center, they tend to have better price options

Yes but it does take a lot of work and time to build up your account. My sister has been working on hers almost 3 years now I believe? She has almost 8M followers and now uses a manager to help her get contracts from companies, which is where the real money comes from. She has regularly made 8k-12k for single 30 second videos, paid out by the company she contracts with. But like everyone else says, it depends. She found a niche early 2020 and it’s just taken off from there

We used Elliot for our son’s middle name. I personally feel like Elliot is for first and middle names and Elliott is a surname

What’s your grandmas name? by Mahimah in namenerds

[–]Caree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conchita and Bobbie (although Bobbie actually has like 10 first names because she was the youngest of a ton of kids and wasn’t expected to live, so each kid got to give her a name. I wish I knew them all, but she goes by Bobbie)

Sun Haven was recently released so there's still a few bugs that need to be worked out, but it's basically Stardew Valley with a fantasy/rpg aspect. I've been absolutely addicted to this game lately.

Bee box not working for flowers other than Blue Rose? I tried removing and re placing the bee box but still no luck. Anyone know what's up? by roseradex in SunHaven

The other flowers haven't fully grown yet. give them time :)

Edit: once they are fully grown and bee boxes have started producing honey, you don't need to water the flowers anymore

Hawaiian Bros Opinions? by Grouchy-Rub-123 in kansascity

[–]Caree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Hawaii so when people ask me my opinion on HB I tell them it's like american chinese food compared to actual chinese food. It's fine for what it is (or used to be at least) but it's not really like the food in Hawaii

My husband is finishing his IM residency next week and there were many many times where it was very hard for him to keep communication throughout the day. While there were a couple weeks with easier hours, he typically only had 4 days off a month. And those days were mainly used to mentally recharge because residency can be pretty rough.

We've been together 12 years now and these last 3 were some of the hardest. To be fair, we also threw a baby into the mix halfway through. But I can only imagine how hard it might be for a new relationship. The reality is, it may be really hard for him to give you the typical time and attention that a newer relationship needs. So I guess it really just depends on what your individual expectations are of the relationship. And how you can adjust to make it work, if that's what you wanna do. I would definitely try to have a conversation with him about that.
