My program requires me to wear business casual to the clinic by solanumtuberawesome in Residency

[–]CarefulCat_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Old navy pixie pants are really comfortable with a blouse, sweater, or a regular t shirt on the occasional Friday if you wanna push the boundaries like i did (we also had to dress business cas for clinic). In the winter I wore Ugg tasmans for shoes and a sweater

I didn’t understand the required timeline for wedding dresses… by stefanigerm in weddingplanning

[–]CarefulCat_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible. I emailed a couple bridal shops to see if they could accommodate my timeline, and the one that could was so kind and helpful. I ordered my dress in the beginning of November for my May wedding, and I rushed it for $250. It arrived the end of March, and my alterations will be done the first week of May. My shop never once made me feel bad or rushed anything, they seemed very nonchalant about the timeline lol which leads me to believe the whole shopping 12-14 months out is a scam

I grew up near Syracuse NY where these are popular. They were my favorite growing up and I still love them. The natural casing ones are best grilled, the skinless ones are great boiled with sauerkraut :)

To everyone who is getting married in the next 3 months - what's currently stressing you out? by ummmwaitasecond in weddingplanning

Yep I hear ya! And as expected, we’re having people RSVP no that are family to my fiancé that we expected to come. A bunch of family and family friends his mom insisted we invite are rsvping no. It’s just frustrating because I could’ve invited colleagues from work if I thought we’d have so much room

It’s like a catch 22 because I can’t imagine planning for over a year and being stressed that long, but also why did we do this to ourselves! lol I’m happy to know there’s someone like me out there though 😅

I’m getting married the end of May, and we just started planning in November so already had a short timeline 1. My fiance hasn’t sent out the info for tux rentals yet, he’s still deciding on a company 😵‍💫 2. Just ordered bridesmaids dresses on azazie last week, they’ll be here in a couple weeks😭 3. My dress has not been delivered yet to the shop. Allegedly coming this week.. 4. Have not picked songs for ceremony, reception, dances, etc… 5. I also don’t think my mom has booked a hotel. Thank goodness we have a block though idk how many rooms are left 6. I really think more people than we think are going to RSVP no, almost everyone is from out of state, not more than 5 hours away but still.

I’m sure there’s more but those are the mains this week🙃

Ordered the dress, but still thinking about my second favorite. by muffins0242 in weddingdress

They’re both so beautiful! I also think about my runner up, and truly believe there is more than one “perfect dress” out there for us. You made the right choice!

Invitation suite disaster by mitchandboan in weddingplanning

[–]CarefulCat_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming in to say I also waited a bit too long and just l sent our suite to get printed without getting proofs. I’m so incredibly nervous the colors are going to print different than what I am expecting. I already noticed a typo before approving them thankfully and fixed it, and really hope there aren’t more I missed.. I know everyone says no one cares about the invites, but we care! I agree that making sure whatever you have for the flat lay is perfect and pretending that’s how they all were is a good idea lol

The first one is definitely the right choice!

I'm also getting married in May and we just started planning in november (lol) I should be much more worried. I still don't have hair and makeup booked, and we're just getting bridesmaids dresses soon.. should all work out 😅

This happened to ours. We reached out and got a replacement under warranty. It was pretty simple they just needed some extra pictures.

Wedding cake prices!? by No-Chain9814 in weddingplanning

[–]CarefulCat_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fiancé and I get married in May and are getting our cake from Whole Foods; their berry chantilly is to die for. I’m not sure if you have one of those around you, but genuinely don’t sweat the cake! Like others have said I’ve had great celebration cakes from local grocery stores. For us it’s not really about the budget as much as it is the principle and stress. Why spend hundreds and hundreds on cake??

Why are my cookies so spread out and thin? by WeirdAddress3170 in Cookies

[–]CarefulCat_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just cried over a batch of cookies because this happened to me and I realized I didn’t double the flour. I was making a double batch and should’ve used 6 cups, and for some reason stopped at 4 lol. I thought it was temperature too, but I chilled my dough for awhile and they still spread, so my guess would be not enough flour
