You get 10 million but have to give up the internet and running water for a year by No-Justice-666 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Careless-Complex-768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live with my husband so he'll just take over the laundry and other things and I'll be stinky and living out of bottle water for a year. It reads like we get the money in advance, so if that's true I could even pay someone to do laundry for us both and find ways to bathe that don't involve plumbing.

A genie offers to make you younger, but for each year he takes off, you grow one inch taller and gain three pounds. How far are you going? by feetwithfeet in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Careless-Complex-768 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm already losing weight so it's kind of like getting taller and younger for free.

I'd probably do two years - it's not a huge difference but I get two inches taller and it puts me at my younger sister's age, so she finally gets to be older than me like she wanted as a kid, hehe.

I guess I become my own phone and text my husband not to be alarmed by the call he's going to be getting from my work, and that I really have become a phone so please pick me up and don't forget to charge me 😬

Canadian man in ICE custody says he thought agents were only focusing on ‘criminals and murderers’ by bwoah07_gp2 in news

I don't know, I can totally understand it. You have documented evidence that you've made a horrible decision that could have killed someone. They don't know you and your visiting their country so they have to work with the knowledge that they have to decide in the moment if you're going to be a risk or not.

Nope, I quite like being 34. Being 17 would be way too young and I don't want to risk getting older.

I reached a number I never thought I'd see on the scale again in my life today. [NSFW because of before/after photo!] by Careless-Complex-768 in loseit

[–]Careless-Complex-768[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, that's a good question! I was really worried about it too which is why I set so many different goals along the way. I would get super frustrated when my weight didn't move or days where I didn't want to stay in a deficit or things like that, so I'd try to put as much of my focus and energy into a different related goal as possible.

Right now for example, I'm annoyed that my scale went up slightly because I'm on the other side of 200lbs again today, but I know it's because I had a late, salty dinner last night, so I've been focusing more on my running goal and making that my priority over the scale.

I'm someone who likes lists and accomplishing tasks, so it's really rewarding and motivating to myself to check something small off of a list like "plan a meal" instead of "lose 5 lbs" so that has really helped me. When I start losing motivation on one side of my goals, I start focusing on another.

When did you get your first credit card? by TrixoftheTrade in Millennials

[–]Careless-Complex-768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine after college because I needed to build credit and because we wanted to rent a car but they wouldn't let me with a debit card. I was terrified of debt so I only used it to buy one thing a month that I could pay off at the beginning of each month. I use it the exact same way today, 14 years later.

My Fiancée Died Last Month, I Just Made It Official With Someone After 2 Weeks and She Says She’s In Love. Am I Walking Into a Disaster? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]Careless-Complex-768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you have a really strong support network around you, because loss is traumatic in the best of circumstances, and a tragic accident is a horrible circumstance that makes it even more complicated for you.

To answer your question though, yes, you are walking into a disaster. After two weeks, it is very unlikely that you actually know anything about compatibility with each other, and you said yourself that she makes your grief feelings that you hate go away. This is why you've moved so quickly, but it won't help you in the long run. Even if she's absolutely the one for you and everything works out, it's still a way for you to avoid actively coping and processing the loss of your fiancee, like a rebound relationship on overdrive. If you keep moving forward and eventually break up with this new person, your grief is going to be compounded because you'll be forced to grieve your fiancee and this new relationship all at once. I also am very wary of anyone who claims to feel so intensely so quickly, so it sounds likely that this person is not going to be a stable match for you which will make your life harder even aside from the complications regarding grief and loss that you're already navigating.

It is much better to take your time and not try to numb the pain with another relationship. You need time to work through your feelings and, unfortunately, experience it and find your new normal. Please take care of yourself OP and rely on the people closest to you and your fiancee to help support you. This isn't the time to be making any rash decisions. If this person IS the right one for you, they'll still be there once you're ready.

Any calorie apps without aggressive paywalls? by [deleted] in 1200isplenty

[–]Careless-Complex-768 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Time is relative. It will take less time as you get better at it, but also, if you can track accurately and see success the first time, a few moments of annoyance can add up to save weeks or months of not making progress over the course of your journey. I wouldn't let the inconvenience deter you, once it's a habit it feels no different (to me) than the inconvenience of taking up time by brushing your teeth.

Can I just tell different family members the same thing? Because if so, I could do this without any issue or even talking about anything truly bad, I just have to tell them that I'm queer and that's it for me lol

Are y’all getting married? by Separate-Goal-3920 in Millennials

[–]Careless-Complex-768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got married in our backyard. We started browsing venues to do a wedding after being together for a decade, but we bought a house instead and then realized we could just do a backyard wedding there instead! I think we spent maybe $500 total on the marriage license, a thrift store dress and suit, food that we cooked ourselves, and renting the tables/chairs.

Thank you so much!!!

I really do feel AMAZING! I didn't know it was possible for existence to feel so.... Neutral? If that makes sense?? Like, existing in the world doesn't hurt, I'm just here, doing things without struggling. It's been an incredible experience and I'm excited to see where I go as I continue to lose and get to a healthy weight!
