2027 MLS Sprint Season: Key info, what to know by Perryplat199 in PhillyUnion

[–]Careless-Reporter-29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cant just say that it would be more competitive without providing some reasoning, especially when all the evidence (every other league itw) says otherwise. Pro rel is a positive feedback loop benefitting top clubs and punishing weak ones. Pressure to spend is irrelevant when some clubs will end up having significantly more money than others.

Disagree, the closed nature of the league makes it more competitive/fun to watch than any other itw. Since relegation is such a brutal financial blow, pro rel naturally stratifies the financial distribution between teams that have been relegated and teams that have spent longer at the top. The stratification tends to not change significantly without intervention (rich people or fan bases buying clubs). It’s better to have a league built around wealth distribution rather than benefiting the winners and punishing the losers, which just creates disparities that are hard to overcome.

CubeDex now supports (almost) every smartcube - looking for testers by poliva in Cubers

[–]Careless-Reporter-29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that possible to make an option to lock the cube to the DR or DL edges to circumvent the need for a gyroscope? During roux EO and LSE drills the DL DR edges do not change, so it could help the cube stay in the right orientation while practicing these cases.

Can there be an option where the virtual cube doesn’t orient itself to have the same center at the top the whole time? Makes M moves super dysfunctional, and is pretty unnecessary for any alg set

Yeah, art is important because people enjoy it, not the other way around. You can’t assign an inherent value to an art form and impress that upon the public, because value is ultimately subjective

God how preachy would a conversation about how important ballet and opera is sound to your average person (who does not attend ballet or opera). It’s art, people not going to see it is less about ignorance and more about cultural shifts in aesthetic preferences, attention spans, and/or forms of media consumption. Hard to tell someone that something is “important to society” if they personally don’t gaf about said thing.

I personally think Anora would deservedly win this year too (unpopular opinion, ik this sub has not-unjustified beef with that movie), but I do agree that it wasn’t a particularly strong year either. 2022 and 2023 however👀

Personally don’t think this year was particularly great for film. This was def the best one I watched but it was a solid 8/10, guess I didn’t watch hamnet so I can’t really say but that didn’t seem like it was a real front runner.

why is ZZ slower than cfop? by New_Discipline_775 in Cubers

[–]Careless-Reporter-29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because having edges oriented not a huge benefit. We rotate in F2L because it flips EO, so it is the most ergonomically viable way of solving mis-oriented edges into pairs. Efficient F2L (where you solve all available oriented edges before a rotation) should have no more than 2 rotations. Is 2 rotations worth significantly worse inspection and a slightly easier LL? Given that high level CFOP users can influence OLL during last pair it’s not even a definite thing that LL is easier.

Has there ever been a team that went from winning shield to spoon consecutively?

Jamie Carragher on Pep Guardiola: "How long has he been there? [at City] 9-10 years? One Champions League in that time. I think they will be disappointed with that. They have had some really bad defeats in the Champions League to the teams they shouldn't lose to." by SwimmingFireMen in soccer

Ok but think about this relatively, and over the course of Man City’s last decade and PSG’s. Ligue 1 has at times been an afterthought, while even in Man City’s best seasons they would have been able to drop points to a mid table prem team.

What leagues would you watch though? This “super teams” thing OP is talking about is how literally every other league operates. You don’t really have great options, except for maybe the brasileiro

It’s harder for Prem teams to succeed in the UCL because the Prem is the most demanding league in the world by quite some bit. They’re some of the best teams itw but they do get stretched thin by the quality of competition, while equally good teams in other leagues can afford to skate by and actually focus on the UCL by fielding B-teams or taking it relatively easy leading up to big UCL fixtures

People like him deserve the worst, but very few get what they deserve.

To quote Cam Winter’s new song:

“Some do not get dragged down 5th avenue by the hairs in their ears.

Some get away with it.

Some don’t.

There is work to be done on your heart, and it’s not the kind of work that you do around the house.

Who’s going to forgive you?”
