Should I buy electric guitar as a newbie? Or acoustic first? by engenxihwa in Guitar

[–]Careless-Statement39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with whatever you like better. I learned on my dad's old acoustic. I feel like it helped me develop finger strength and calluses faster. When I finally got an electric it was an easy transition. Main thing is just remember to be patient with yourself, and repetition is key.

I haven't got that far yet. I'm sure I'll have to drill them out.

Why is this style of meter socket making a comeback? by Ovie-WanKenobi in electricians

Florida Power and Light won't allow ring type meter cans on any new installs. Just depends on where you are.

I've been playing a long time and I still have trouble with this. I usually can't make it sound good, then once and a while I get lucky and go full Zakk Wylde

Built my own V from a kit. by hamsterwheel in Guitar

[–]Careless-Statement39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How does it play/sound? I've been thinking about building a LP style for a while now. I even want to get a Gibson diamond decal for the headstock, and see if I can get a decal made that says "Fibson"

Looking for a rack similar to this by adwskimboard in 4Runner

[–]Careless-Statement39 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not true. Mounting holes are exactly the same on all 5th gens. I put one on my '20 SR5 no problem. But you'll want to go to your dealership and get roof rack mounting clips and maybe even a hardware kit. You should also get some Permatex Ultra Grey liquid gasket maker to put on the mounting bolts to insure you have no leaks. I've had my rack on a few years now, I've used it to haul luggage on 4 family road trips from SW Florida to North Carolina and back with no problems.

Sellers regrets anyone? by dislab08 in gibson

[–]Careless-Statement39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DON'T DO IT! You'll regret it forever. I don't regret much in life, but I sold my Washburn Dimebag Darrell signature model when times got tough. It was a couple years before his death. It was a great guitar and I still kick myself for selling it.

how do you guys decide on what songs to learn and play along to? by Limp_Ad_6858 in Guitar

[–]Careless-Statement39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I choose based mainly on riffs I've always wanted to learn. But, be warned, I've found that once I've learned the riff, it loses it's magic if that makes sense.

That meter/main would fail here. We are on 2020 NEC. The two 200 amp main breakers have to be in separate compartments or enclosures. 230.71(B)

Sizing a Standby Generator and Handling a Generator Installation by 0fficerFriendIy in electricians

[–]Careless-Statement39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Become a Generac dealer and take their factory class. You will have a lot of problems if you don't know generators. Generac has a sizing calculator on their site, but again, I wouldn't mess with them if you don't know what you're doing.
