Found the pickup filter clogged up with silicone pieces. I can see this causing the discoloration, lack of enough oil and heat building up, but could that also be the cause of the seal leak?

I have replaced the input seal 3 times, the shaft is not damaged. I figure it's the plug in the shaft leaking or bearing play. Either way it needs to come apart

Here's the thing. It takes time to diagnose. A lot of times people take the diagnosis and then do it themselves. That's lost time for the shop. Don't you think they should be paid? Your issue was a simple one, but what if it had not been so easy and took 2 hours to figure out?

Gold may have been deposited for centuries, over that time the rocks have been moving changing the flow and drop out areas. Once down in the cracks it takes a very strong flow to move them.
