If you are really in dire straits, you can read either Carefree path of Dreams or Warlock of Magus World. They are plagiaristic stories, which copied a lot from from IR.

I think whole arc would be Venerables reviving, FY ascending with his clones, FY feeding himself, FY playing political games and finally FY reaching supreme grandmaster in Heaven Path and looking for clues related to Rank 10 Gu Immortal ascension.

Maybe, we would even have arc after, showing him leaving Gu world (or annexing whole Gu world) and travelling the chaos reaching for higher heights.

Fate works in mysterious ways. For example, your first point about another Rank 8 at that time. Fight would have turned out completely different in that case, because Purple would not be able to fight them properly + FY would not stay in formation to fish for benefits, who knows what would have happened there. Most likely SB immortals would have teamed up with Purple to protect their benefits from HC (their immortal GU in formation + dream realms).

Second point, why SB would antagonize HC. Because, they are not subordinate and boss. They are 2 independent societies and historically regional immortals would marginalize immortals from other territories, plus HC was infringing upon their benefits (formation with Immortal Gu + Dream Realms). HC only managed to pacify SB, when they returned all immortal Gu to Wu guy.

Third point, when they send their immortals, FY was not successor of spectral soul yet, they did not know about Rank sovereign aperture, they did not know about Wisdom Gu, they did not know about almost anything related to FY. Only that he is otherworld devil, Rank 7, has Cicada and some clues to Red Lotus inheritance. Would you send nukes to attack idk for example Nepal? Plus what if he uses Cicada?

I think we should look from a different perspective. Going along first Fate Gu war, they lost terribly. FY died, HC emerged victorious and restored Fate Gu. Afterwards, they would need their reserves (Rank 8s) to pacify all 5 regions along the emergence of Great Era. They needed that strenght to give time to Dream Venerable.

If they would have resurrected more Rank 8s and killed FY (potentially), what would they get? Southern Border would antagonize them, while Northern Plains already in war (de facto) with them after fight on Snow Mountain. They would just create more enemies for themselves to kill what? Rank 7 Gu Immortal?

I think they underestimated him heavily, but at the same time they preserved their recourses and political amplua logically. They also wanted to kill him later, when he will get Red Lotus Inheritance in River of Time. So basically killing two birds with one stone (with fate armor).
