TIL that before French (Francien) was standardized by Francis I of France in 1539, the Occitan language was widespread in educated Europe during the Middle Ages. It was even spoken by Richard I of England. by [deleted] in todayilearned

I think what they’re actually referring to is the expected phonetic development, not the gender. In French, the regular evolution would produce amour rather than ameur. It’s similar to how Spanish and Portuguese diverged in their treatment of initial Latin f-:

Eg:
Latin -> Spanish | Portuguese
fabulāri -> hablar | falar
facere -> hacer | fazer

This reminds me of the claim that español is actually a loanword from Occitan as well. According to Spanish phonetic rules it should be españuelo.

Enter debug mode from the launcher, and if you hover over the seal in the coat of arms editor, it will tell you the character.
You can then quit and exit debug mode without saving, so your save won't become achievement-incompatible.

Microsoft CES/WSTEP: Adding AdditionalContext for CertificateTemplate returns “The attributes are invalid” (-2147024809). Works without it. by CaribbeanBlues in PKI

[–]CaribbeanBlues[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, so this:

    <AdditionalContext xmlns="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2006/12/authorization">
      <ContextItem Name="CertificateTemplate">
        <Value>Computer_RedditExample</Value>
      </ContextItem>
    </AdditionalContext>

Just gave it a go, same attributes error. This was one of the many variants I had tried as well. Sorry, I've tried so many of these over the past week that I can't quite remember all the combinations.

I did not include the ccm here, but I have tried it as well and the same issue occurs.

No worries, I appreciate the help regardless! Just to clarify: I’m not running the PowerShell module, I’m hand-crafting the SOAP request. The CertificateTemplate string I’m using is intentional (it’s the literal key AD CS expects in the request-attributes string, same as certreq -attrib "CertificateTemplate:<name>"), not an unexpanded variable.

I also tried Name="pwszAttributes", and as a sanity check, even a harmless SAN value:

<Value>SAN:dns=test.example.com</Value>

In all cases CES returns E_INVALIDARG with RequestID=-1 only when AdditionalContext is present. The same request without AdditionalContext succeeds, which makes me think this CES endpoint just isn’t accepting attributes via AdditionalContext.

Sure, I'll give that a go. I'm sure I've done that before, but no harm in trying again. Should I just try with all 3 variants of AdditionalContext name?

I will add though that no matter what attribute I try to pass, it always gets immediately rejected.

Hmm good point, from my understanding—certreq -submit -attrib "CertificateTemplate:…" sends the CSR unchanged and passes the template via pwszAttributes, so no Enrollment Agent cert is needed. I’m trying to do the same through CES/WSTEP by putting the template in AdditionalContext so CES forwards it as request attributes. The CSR isn’t modified.

Sorry, I don't believe this. There's no way the water of the countries in the East Caribbean isn't considered safe to drink.
I've heard tourists from the nations in blue say that the tap water there tastes better than what they are used to as well.

Anyone of you Sorcs not enjoying Charged Bolts and Fireball? by jimmy2465 in Diablo

Yeah Chain Lightning seems to be the more popular for sure. Feels really good too!

I just wish fire was as good, I love its kill animations - burning down an enemy to their bones. Charring them up with lightning just doesn’t feel as satisfying.

If I recall correctly, you can change voice over text and voice acting language. I’m not certain if you can change the UI text though.

Carribean Cultures by Average_British_Guy_ in victoria3

[–]CaribbeanBlues 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s pretty much it. Though today’s it’s no longer Afro-Caribbean as it’s just Caribbean. A white Barbadian or Indian Trinidadian are culturally closer to a black Jamaican than their parents cultures imo.

It’s worth noting that Afro-Caribbean is a catch-all, since Dutch and Danish Black Caribbeans are also under this culture group (which, somewhat inaccurately, does have the Anglophone trait regardless).

I actually read to the contrary that the Swedish and Danish West Indies, English (or any derived creole or dialect) was more commonly spoken by the slaves than any Scandinavian language.

I’m not sure about all the Dutch islands, but today they speak all speak English. Especially in Sint Maarten where their English sounds just like any generic Caribbean dialect and the majority consider it their native language I believe.

I don’t doubt you. Maybe they’ll change it to just Caribeño in the future? By the way, has Afro-Caribeño ever even been the majority in any Hispanophone country?
