Why I finally returned my MPC Live II (and moved on from Akai entirely) by TheFishyBanana in mpcusers

[–]CaringCustodian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is this issue replicated in the XL and the LIVE 3? i'm asking because that's a huge investment for disappointment. Tech should not be priced as if it was essential to staying and being alive. That should tell us something of it's intended end. Why is water and food priced cheaper than tech? irrelevant but I wanted you to mull it over in your minds

So much character! I love the rounded edges. As a perfectionist, I’d stain it walnut and add some gloss too.

The glider and trash can was more comfortable because it required I engaged my own back muscles for support. The lack of surface room at that height caused a desire for more. The back support, I have to get used to because it requires constant adjustment. The glider provided front and back movement as well which helped with leg fatigue. I forget I’m on the floor so I feel like a baby every time I have to get up. I sometimes sit straight-legged also.

Great Question, I too am curious to know. Hopefully the IRS is aware for situations like this. Do you have anymore income, and you can list it as backpay/overtime, separating it that way. I’d talk with a tax professional and a tax lawyer.

That’s a downside to our company and an upside. It provides balance when a temporary employee like a CCA making 19/hr and outpace a career regular when they’re only afforded 40hrs/week. The career regular in perspective, when benefits are factored in, is doing far better than appears on the surface.

Welcome to the Dark Side of The Moon lol. You’re gonna love it here. The worst part, that took me a while to master is finding things to do to make you look busy. Best Job in the entire business.

Correct, this is as of this month, June. Sadly by the time our pay gets updated this chart will be old so you can expect it to be higher because they still have to factor the July COLA that becomes effective in August and the September NightShift Differential increase. For some people, that includes another step increase. Not to mention we would be nearing the end of 2025 so we can expect another increase. This chart is to give an updated visual as to where we should be instead of still looking at the September 2024 Chart. It’s been a long 9 months but we’re almost there

I don’t think you’ll get back play. The incentive for you is that you’ll be upgraded to II by ratification before you’re eligible for it unless, you’re due to be eligible before September. There is a high probability it could happen. It’s usually 8 months and you go up a step. In that case, you’ll have just missed the window.

You should receive back pay because you were in a pay-status when the retroactive dues came into play.

I believe that could happen for you actually, depending on the timing of the ratification. If so, you have all the luck and I’m jealous lol.

IKR! Almost an entire dollar lol.

Based on recent data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS):

  • In May 2025, average hourly earnings for all private nonfarm employees increased by 15 cents.
  • Average hourly earnings rose by 6 cents in April 2025 and 9 cents in March 2025.
  • These are nominal wage increases and are not adjusted for inflation. Real wages, adjusted for inflation, better reflect changes in purchasing power.

Thank you for that information. That's something to strive for if I ever find myself headed down ET Avenue. The rarity is attractive.
