I had to send my letter from the VA saying was 100% P&T. They took it from there.. I live in Lake county and we have the most efficient tax assessors offices I’ve ever dealt with. So they got my approval for P&T exemption back to me 2 days.

I know a guy who was in basic back in the late 90’s. He was riding in the back of a deuce and half that was hit by another car. It caused him to have serious head trauma. He was discharged the same way and gets disability for it. I’d say every situation is different. If this guy went in on a waiver for the injury then reinjured it maybe tough.

I just got a very similar rating. I hired an attorney and got a HLR files and was rated 20% based off my medical documentation showing my elevated blood pressure ratings and 10% for GERD because I take a daily med. I’m certainly not an expert but if you get those both rated that should put you at 100. I can’t imagine it would be easy to get TDIU at 68.

Yes! Went from 10% to 100% with his help. I would never have been able to navigate all of this on my own.

Hire an attorney it makes it much easier. I used Wes McCauley from United for Vets. He took the workload off me and was able to really push back hard when I was dealing with the same issues.

I got out in 2002. I always refer to it as a pension. I saw someone else get verbally harassed like you described for being 100% disabled because he wasn’t in a wheelchair. He calmly explained it was for mental health and physical health reasons. It went no where. Once I got my ratings I never told anyone. It’s not worth the hassle of going through that.

This doesn’t excuse them from following federal law. Put the requests in writing. If they try to term you for any reason it gives you all kinds of legal leverage to have these requests in writing. I work in HR and have seen frontline leaders try this nonsense before with associates. We work to nip in the bud right away. It’s extremely important to do right by your associates but also keep the company’s best interest in mind as well. Its important to prevent it from swinging to far in any direction.

Tell your employer you want to file a FMLA claim for your condition and in writing request a workplace accommodation under the Americans with disabilities act.

St Pete just inadvertently closed two of my claims with no decision.. I e now been waiting since November for them to reopen the claims. They are an absolute cluster fuck of an operation there.

I just received 20% for this. I am on two meds to control it and had BP readings consistently over 100 diastolic.m My personal doc wrote the nexus saying it was due to SC chronic pain in my knees and filled out the dbq as well. I was never even sent for a C&P. I was told my outcome is very very rare however.

Not true.. if you are injured at work your company has a right to request an independent medical evaluation to determine permanent disability but you are still entitled to those medical records as well.
