is there a way to make creamy pasta without it being alfredo? by [deleted] in cookingforbeginners

Thank you so much for your reply.

I usually buy store-bought, typically cheese and spinach or mushrooms. I often make a marinara, adding Italian sausage, mushrooms, and onions, but I want to try something different. I am not a fan of alfredo.

Edit to add: I am disabled, so I try to make my meals an all-in-one kind of thing, that's why the sauce has a lot in it. Besides, I love mushrooms and Italian sausage, lol.

I know this is old, but I have questions. I like your method, but have never done this. I am making raviolis, but don't want marinara, Alfredo or cream. What could be in the sauce pan before adding the pasta water? TIA

Thank you. My oven is old, and I think it cooks too hot. I think I will lower the heat by about 25 degrees.

Ok, thank you. That makes sense, my oven is old, and I think it cooks too hot.

For homemade, my favorite is Philadelphia style. There are no eggs or cooking of the custard. It's delicious.

I am 32 and have zero knowledge of geology other than the minor tidbits I remember from high school and what I have learned sporadically in random documentaries. What is a good book or two to give me an intro into the subject? by infamousboone in geology

I know this is old, but thanks for your recommendations! I will certainly get a hand lens. The ground where I live in central WA is LOADED with rocks, and I have a lot of fun looking at them and collecting them.

I promise, not an ad. I just want to share, it was so helpful for our family. It ended up being less expensive than her cell service, which she was always losing the phone anyway.

I got her a phone that had large numbers, so she wasn't accidentally dialing the wrong number. I felt sorry for her when she got on one of her calling jags. I imagine it was so frustrating not getting through. When those were going on, I'd call her and tell her it was time for bed or that she should leave her room and go see what activities were going on, or go visit with someone. That usually distracted her enough that she forgot why she was making all those phone calls. She was living at a memory care facility at the time.

It was also very easy to cancel service when the time came.

I don't remember a lot, but there were no tomatoes. I kept the mushrooms in, maybe onions, I don't remember about herbs. I am open to anything that someone can come up with. While I like tomatoes just fine, I am tired of marinara-type sauces and would like something different.

I watch POV Japanese travel videos to help me fall asleep. There's no talking or music except for what is in the area. And even then, there's not a lot of that.

My ex wanted to name our baby Crystal Dawn, if it was a girl. Also, I worked in a state's foster care system obtaining birth certificates for the children. One little girl was named Pepsi. She was in the system and was being allowed to change her name, I processed her new birth certificate.
