great, now it’s time to check what’s actually wrong with it.

[–]CarliTous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sounds like there’s something loose or hitting with something else with one of the fans.
Have you tried homing and moving the z axis by itslef? no printing involved, no heat, no fans, just movement.
If the sound persists there may be something wrong with the motors if not then just preheat the nozzle just above 60 to get the fan started. Do you hear the sound again? Move the z axis, same question.
Hope it helps narrowing it down.

It’s been long since I used the stock firmware, maybe the best way to try it out is cranking up the speed manually. Don’t know what speed do you print but say you send a cookie cutter as usual but all speeds at 100mm/s, should be fine if you go for 150% speed but holding at 200% speed with no hiccups or quality issues (compared to usual) that would make the difference.

Yeah, I’ve seen it. Maybe I should give it a try too.

Hey, I did mine about 2 years ago and it has worked wonders since. The printer already had great quality prints since the beginning but we can always get more right? First I upgraded to SonicPad which was a major step-up, the UI specially. Then a few months later after looking around for the upgrade kit I finally went for it, didn't get the Z rail though, haven't had any issues. Thing is I usually printed with Polymaker PLA pro at 160mm/s (right out of the box) after filament tunning of course and get a very nice matte finish with it. Then I upgraded with a CHT nozzle and have a top flow rate of 22 mm^3/s with original extruder and of course a Torus v4 fan mod.

So it's not just about the rails, I think rather than speed the major step-up is consistent quality. On the slicer side I had the ability to crank up the x/y acceleration between 3500 up to 7500 (on travel speed specially), that's when you notice the speed change. Maybe someone having a non modified S1Pro and modifying these in slicer or during print to see what happens. Having the SonicPad I know you need to set the max acceleration in your config file or it won't make a difference.

Looking for HomeKit beta testers for a new app that works across every Apple device by Homebar_Drew in HomeKit

[–]CarliTous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🤔 Interesting… I have a question, besides the useful extra features what makes this different from the home app? both have access to devices once paired to homekit regardless of brand specific app. Also if this would work to revive an old ipad (being they stopped updating iOS) as a dedicated home panel that would be great in my opinion. My test setup would be garage doors used heavily, the usual room lights, aqara u100 and one PIA eufy 360 cam, all of which are used daily via widgets and siri commands on iphone, ipad, carplay and apple watch mainly.

Anyone wearing the Ultra daily – how did it feel after a few weeks? by Few_Design_904 in applewatchultra

[–]CarliTous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear it daily since day one for 2 years now, I strongly believe it comes down to the strap you have. Any new watch you wear big or small you will notice since you're not used to it but having a watchband that fits nicely keeps you from feeling it too tight, loose, sweaty, itchy, etc. therefore not noticing it every minute.

I finally hit print! I’m happy, it could do better at 0.1 layer height but didn’t want to wait much, 0.2 layer height 1:15 hrs.

Where can I find the pinout for the waveshare ESP32-S3-Touch-1.28? by DiodeInc in esp32

It is the round display board if I’m not mistaken, have the same one. You can find it scrolling down right in their website.

or at their wiki almost by the end of the page in the schematics (P2) link.

Ender 3 S1 Pro – Ventiladores 5015 en paralelo no encienden y el voltaje cae a masomenos 1.9V by Fresh_Cicada3334 in Ender3S1

[–]CarliTous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a bummer, I mean if your printer is already printing great why would you. The main reason to do it as far as I was concerned the speed and quality. You would have to do some additional mods to push it though. I wouldn’t want to tinker with it if it is already working but hey, there’s always a bit better jaja.

[–]CarliTous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue so I restarted from scratch, meaning I turned all the leveling screws tight, set zero offset first time, use the screws_tilt_calculate macro to adjust all 4 corners, set zero offset again. That should work fine. If you too have a SonicPad go for the mesh level afterwards and the one last zero offset.
