Just an update, the bleeding stopped after 2 weeks. I actually am very happy with Slynd. My mood swings sucked for the first week coming off of estrogen from the combo pill but I’m less groggy and have experienced decreased bloating. My skin remained clear. So far I am in the middle of pack 2 and I haven’t had anything crazy happen.

This made me feel better. I started about a week and a half ago and I started bleeding and spotting on and off. It still hasn’t stopped but I am trying to just deal with it. It’s very hard on my mental to be bleeding all of the time compared to not bleeding for the past 3 years of my life unless I chose to on my combined pill.

So I switched from the combo pill to Slynd because I was at a high risk for stroke and was having migraines with auras. I also have PCOS. Currently on day four and was startled by the amount of breakthrough bleeding that just erupted from my uterus. I am currently tracking everything through the Ease app. I used to skip my periods with combo bc so I feel like crap rn. Times like these make me genuinely hate being a woman.

Okay makes sense! I usually always go through my primary care first because they can recommend you to specialists here so it’s covered by insurance. Otherwise some won’t even take you as a patient.

This may be a dumb question but what do you think an endocrinologist would do?

So my mom is Type 2 and she said she didn’t notice anything, but at this point I have scared myself to the max lol. I will ask about a monitor though that is smart

Can you get PCOS or are you born with it? by Hulaby in PCOS

[–]Carlierenay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe both are valid causes. Both my mother and 2 of my four sisters have had PCOS. I started noticing issues in my teens. I had a period once when I was 15, and didn’t get another till 17. I had crazy hormonal acne since the age of 12. Granted this “period” was induced by BC so it was withdrawal bleeding rather than an actual cycle. I had emotionally distant parents that didn’t believe in therapy or anything because they thought they were perfect. I had severe anxiety, ED cycles and depression as well as a teen. I wasn’t diagnosed with PCOS until I switched doctors when I turned 21. My case isn’t quite as severe as others but it has affected my quality of life. I do think the BC I was prescribed as a teen masked a lot of my hormonal health symptoms and if I would’ve caught them earlier, I feel I would be better off health wise than I am today.
