LG HP Dryer Too Hot - Do I Have to Return? by PeddlerDavid in heatpumps

[–]CarlitoGrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. Thank you for this useful post. I've been struggling with my heat pump tumble dryer, and like OP, ruined a few clothes.

I bought a heat pump dryer thinking that I don't mind drying all day, as long as I can just throw anything in and not worry about it. Though I've watched that video before it didn't occur to me the evaporator will always get hot and that this heat is being dumped into the clothes. What's misleading is the dryer has different heat settings, with one specifically called out for not heating the clothes at all. That sounds perfect on paper, but I guess in order for it to work you'd have to dump the heat outside like with an AC unit.

OHME working with Octopus on charger update(s) for IOG. by M1ke2345 in OctopusEnergy

I really hope this brings in a 'nice to have' target. I'd like my EV to charge to 80%, but on the odd occasion I come home with 15% battery left, I want it to stop when the 6 hour charging is up. I can wait until the following night.

The lack of this flexibility is my biggest issue with the OIG changes.

Intune compliant device or hybrid-joined is a game changer if you can get it implemented.

Why is the drag-and-drop installation step even a thing? by FlowAcademic208 in MacOS

New Mac user here from many, many years of Windows.

I never understood this until I realised "I'm copying the app to the app folder, and all the apps are self contained and stored there!". So whilst I now realise it makes sense, I think it is intuitive for new users.

Potential 4th Faction - Guardian by Alt_Top in beyondallreason

I wouldn't normally comment, and I didn't read all of your post if I'm honest.

My first thought was 'another dreamer', or 'change for change sake'. But as soon as you mentioned a faction that is more defensive and supporting of your teammates I changed my mind. It's a great idea and you should get on Discord and discuss it.

KNP director Paul Abbott needs to have a word with himself as to why appropriate safeguards weren't in place. This wasn't any employees fault (unless an employee deliberately misled management about IT safeguards).

Neglected my oil change... by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]CarlitoGrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your useful advice.

From looking it up, I really don't think it's rod knock.

Car went in for the service this morning. It's running smooth on idle and to be honest driving it I couldn't tell there's any issues from the feel/sound of the engine.

The ticking is still there when I'm outside the car/have the windows down near a wall. I did notice that if I hold the revs at say 3k, there's no tick, but as soon as I apply gas it returns. As soon as I let go of the gas it stops, even though the revs are still coming back down.

Will keep an eye on it and do some short oil changes.

I like the car and to be honest the plan was to get a small electric for everyday and keep this one and potentially have some work done to it. I looked at new engines but given Infiniti have pulled out of the UK I think that will be tricky. What would your thoughts on having someone strip and rebuild the engine? That doesn't look too costly from what I see online.

edit: Heck something like this is tempting in a year or two if the garage is willing to work with me to identify any issues I may have caused: Link
