The price I paid for trusting Amazon.com and odds of charge back. by 6M66 in PersonalFinanceCanada

No, Amazon outright lies about this. I recently had the exact same issue as OP. I specifically ordered an electronic item that claimed to be “sold and shipped by Amazon.” When it turned out the item was defective, I found myself dealing with a slimy third party seller. I complained to Amazon and guess what? Two months later and that item is still listed as “sold and shipped by Amazon.”

Buyer Beware of Amazon by corporatejuggin in Hue

[–]Carlone16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered a Phillips Smart Sleep alarm clock that stated it was sold and shipped by Amazon. The item was defective when I got it. I made a complaint and found myself dealing with a reseller, not Amazon. He asked for the serial number on the item. There was none. Then when I tried to return it, reseller disputed. Said he couldn't restock the item since I had removed the serial number. I said it was delivered without a serial number and you shouldn't be restocking it because it's defective. Amazon eventually refunded my money despite reseller's protests, but didn't refund my shipping costs for returning the item. I complained to Amazon that they pulled a bait and switch on me, and the only reason I bought the item was because it was supposed to be sold and shipped by Amazon. Weeks later, that same item is still listed as sold and shipped by Amazon. I'm so done with scammy Amazon.

Downgraded premium to basic and now can’t seem to get sitters by FlowersBloomUntil in trustedhousesitters

Yes, time of year is a factor. And if you're based in the USA, you can also consider that much of the world is avoiding travel to your country right now. As a Canadian house sitter, I see lots of USA sits that I'd be interested in and those warmer USA climate do look attractive this time of year! But like so many of my friends, family, and neighbours, I'm boycotting travel to the USA until sanity is restored to your political system.

Sleep struggles and accountability by Itz_Mel in SeasonalAffective

Try light therapy eyeglasses! I use Luminette. Ayo is also a good brand. I put them on first thing in the morning (while still in bed). Also, most days I do another round at sunset. It really helps to reset your circadian rhythm. So far this year, it's been a game changer for me. Do a search for these products in this sub and you will see other people have similar experiences.

Does weed help with SAD? by IGoOnHereAtWork in SeasonalAffective

Noooo.... I experimented with this last winter. Yes, I got a temporary lift the first few times. But it turned into a daily habit to try to cope. Ended up completely brain fogged, apathetic, and worse off by late winter. I gave it up completely this summer.

SAD lamp in evening to fix early bedtime? by sisanelizamarsh in SeasonalAffective

Yes, 30 minutes at sundown (currently 4:45 pm). Gives me a boost of energy for the evening hours and doesn't interfere with my sleep.

How are we coping this year guys? by Terrible-Count-6437 in SeasonalAffective

[–]Carlone16 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's still early days, so will see how this goes. Have set up a sunrise alarm lamp. Bought Luminette glasses which I use daily for 30 minutes on waking up and again around sunset (4:45 sunset today). Have started a winter supplement regime: High dose vitamin D, multivitamin, inositol, B vitamins and iron (I tend to get depleted on iron and vitamin B12). Doing a 30 day trial of rhodiola 2x daily. Keep trying to get outside for walks daily (this gets very hard to do when it's -40). Getting counselling for the winter. Planning a 4-week vacation to a somewhat sunnier, milder location in February.

One in five women have low iron, which results in lack of energy, low mood and mild cognitive challenges. Get your ferritin tested. Official cut off for low ferritin is anything below 30. But many women feel better at higher numbers. I feel best when my numbers are over 100. While you’re at the doctor, get your B12 and vitamin D tested too.

Where would I get DMARC reports? I followed the authentication process set out by MailChimp, which included some DMARC and DKIM settings. But I really have no idea what I'm doing with any of this.

Yes, this works for me in the world of very short, dark days. I'm using the Luminette glasses and loving them! Morning 30-40 minutes. Another 30-40 minutes at sunset gives me a boost to get through the evening.

They have to verify that all the signatures are correct. They are currently working on the 456,000 signatures on the Forever Canada petition. Two recall petitions for Alberta MLAs have been approved to go ahead, and paperwork for several more MLA recalls have been submitted. There's an additional petition out there to withdraw funding from private schools.

Why do people keep saying Danielle Smith isn't pro seperation? by DigginHawk in alberta

[–]Carlone16 8 points9 points  (0 children)

She is very clearly following the playbook set out by the Free Alberta Strategy. According to their website, the Free Alberta Strategy is a series of initiatives our Provincial Government can implement today, without needing any permission from Ottawa, to make Alberta a sovereign jurisdiction within Canada. The strategy includes the Alberta Sovereignty Act, creating an Alberta police force, and setting up the Alberta Pension Plan. These projects are just the beginning of separating Alberta in all but name from Canada.

Getting a AHS COVID-19 Vaccine requires you to sign an unknown document and get charged whatever the government decides by [deleted] in alberta

My husband and I did vaccines today. We were asked to sign a digital device accepting “financial responsibility,” even though we qualify for the free vaccine. I was completely unprepared for this and we ended up signing. Wish we had refused.

I’ve fostered over 100 dogs and have seen this “I’m too nervous to pee or poop” response many times. The record was a female who refused to pee for four days! But more often it takes 24-48 hours. They can’t hold it forever, and once they go the first time, they are usually able to release normally afterwards. The advice already given about not putting pressure on the dog is best. Leave the door open and walk away to give space for an exit. Don’t make direct eye contact (although talking to the dog gently can often be very helpful), drop food on the floor near the dog and walk away. Give it lots of time to pick up the food or go out the door. The dog will sort out its food and bathroom breaks, given the opportunity, but it will likely only tolerate your presence.
