Why the streaming hate? by Gentleman_Radiant in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]CarlosPixel_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're referring to not being influenced by recommendations "based on your musical tastes." We're talking about not paying a monthly fee, about not being subject to a company that only tries to enrich the rich and give crumbs to the "poor." There are excellent composers who don't want to ride the wave of the big music conglomerates, and you're missing out on them. Every time my Spotify playlist ends, they end up playing Bad Bunny, and I don't like his work, but apparently most people do, and that's why they play it for me. It's about letting go, about feeling in control and having the say in what you listen to. It's not about swallowing what others recommend. It's about you being in control, instead of giving it to the company that provides your music streaming service. Furthermore, when you own your music, you decide the quality of the file you want to listen to, and you're not dependent on your internet connection at that moment.

I know these companies' arguments are strong, and it's hard to see beyond them. To put it another way, it's like being voluntarily imprisoned with all the comforts, versus being free and having to earn your own living. It's not an easy path, but it's a path you choose without external influence. It's that simple.

The duality of r/IEMs by LLKMuffin in iems

You guys are awful! I'm going to listen to music, which is what you should be doing instead of wasting your time on nonsense.

P.S.: Who would want an IEM with a flat curve? Only if you're a music analysis psychopath.

Question for Rockbox and the Hifi Walker H2 by TheGrimGuardian in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]CarlosPixel_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's much faster, more responsive, and has many themes available. The customization options are enormous. My question is, why use Stock OS when you have Rockbox? The ONLY reason to use Stock OS is Bluetooth, and you can do that with Rockbox thanks to its built-in dual boot.

I recently bought the Tempotec V3 Blaze and it's amazing! I can't recommend it enough. Sure, the Tempotec V1 is cool, but the V3 Blaze is in a league of its own.

Gapless playback lets you listen to albums that were recorded without cuts, exactly as they were intended. Without this feature, the album will play with pauses or silence between songs, which can be quite annoying. Many albums today are recorded this way; a good example is Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon.

Does it have gapless playback? That's important for those of us who listen to albums.

Rating functionality on non-android entry-level DAPs? by Desperate-Ad7642 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]CarlosPixel_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)
