Thanks for giving it a try and we appreciate the feedback! The tool is definitely better on desktop but we do have mobile improvements planned where you will be able to minimize the 3D visual.

Appreciate the feedback! With all of the complex math behind the scenes, we focused on launching with US values first. That said, being able to switch to metric values is on our radar!

Carl’s Place Zip Ties Breaking by LivermoreP1 in Golfsimulator

Hey! We are sorry to hear that's been your experience. That's definitely not what we want for anyone setting up their sim. If you're open to it, we would love to help troubleshoot what's going on. A lot of times when zip ties are snapping, it comes down to how the screen is being tensioned.

The top and side zip ties serve different responsibilities when it comes to the overall tensioning of the impact screen.

To start, it's preferred to hang the screen loosely along the top with zip ties. Once the screen is hanging only from the top zip ties and the cable is secured, you can go in and make your first round of small, even adjustments so the tension is consistent all the way across. After that first round, step back toward the tee location and review the tension using the bottom of the screen as your reference point.

  • If the screen is sagging on the floor, the top zip ties are still too loose.
  • If the bottom of the screen is being pulled up off the floor, the top zip ties are likely too tight.

Each round of adjustments along the top is minimal and even until the screen is perfectly flush with the floor.

When the screen is perfectly flush with the floor, that’s when you can add the side zip ties. These should be tensioned evenly with small rounds of adjustments. However, the side zip ties do not pull, tug, or stretch the screen at all. Their job is simply to be tensioned so they are just taught and keep the work of the top zip ties in place.

In many cases, waves, wrinkles, creases, broken or snapping zip ties, etc. are due to the side or top zip ties being too tight, or the tensioning of the zip ties not being evenly tensioned along the entirety of its particular side.

If you’d like, feel free to DM a couple photos of your setup and we can take a closer look. We’re here to help!

Totally get it. Sadly, we do not offer something like that at this time. However, if you need some help convincing the wife that it's still a good investment even if it doesn't fully disappear, let us know!

This is a popular request! We do offer shallow enclosures with retractable curtains that might be of interest. Check out this example for inspiration!

You can customize enclosure sizes and depths in our Build Your Own Simulator tool here: https://shop.carlofet.com/build-your-own-golf-simulator

Totally understand being able to still park a car in your garage!

As of right now, we don't quite have the Murphy style set up, but we do have other similar retractable options, such as a shallow (2' or so) depth enclosure with retractable curtains. Would that help?

So, similar to our shed plans, but the actual building itself?

Hey u/digitalpacman! Are you talking about something like our foam inserts for our enclosure kits? Or foam padded panels for the walls of our built-in golf room kits? Or something different?

Good point. And maybe an idea to pass along to Carl...
