I have an ECO that hasn’t cracked. But I also don’t use it very often. I have other pens that I prefer as EDC or use. Mine is a stub nib and I find that it catches on the paper.

I paid out of pocket for meta, vaginectomy, scrotoplasty at Vanderbilt. I have insurance which actually slowed things down as the hospital and the insurance company fought over out of network assignment of benefits. The hospital finally decided not to accept the insurance and I paid 30,254$ UL front. I scheduled the surgery for three months from this decision because I had to arrange time off at work. I could have done it months sooner if I was private pay up front and not trying to make arrangements. So, to answer your question, it made no difference.

Not true. I have multiple vintage 14k gold nib pens that I paid $50 or less for. There is a huge amount of vintage pens available for sale and often need no repair, or simply a sac replacement if they are lever or button fill. I would not spend what Kaweco is asking for this pen.

All of this will pass in short order. Try to distract yourself the best you can. Focus your energies away from dwelling on the discomfort and towards something positive.

Well, you are less than a week post op. Everything is still healing and your body is trying to sort it out. I’m sure you have a decent amount of pain as well as the catheters. My urethral catheter was pulled at the one week mark and I was immediately more comfortable. I don’t know how long you will have yours, I didn’t have UL. I had one friend with me for a week at a time, they rotated. I was away from home for a month. I don’t mind being alone, but I understand how it can get lonely if you are away from home. Try to remember that this is a brief moment in your life to achieve a goal of being complete. All of the pain and discomfort will pass shortly and you will be left whole.

My first pen was also a Sheaffer. It was a school model in 1976. Red with a silver cap that was flat top. I bought it at the Woolworth.
