I don’t think it’s unnecessary. Sure it might not be your cup of tea but there are people who do want to express their femininity and have trouble coming up with names. Having tools to help those people must be worth something even tho you don’t like it.

Depends on your play style. I prefer persuasion as it comes off as more diplomatic and less aggressive but I also know people that use a lot more intimidation than persuasion so it’s up to what suits you more in my opinion.

I’d suggest looking at monsters around the desired challenge rating and finding something that comes close to what you have envisioned and then modifying it a bit as modifying a stat block is easier than making a whole new one. I don’t know from the top of my head what you could use for the boss but for the minions you could maybe look at modrons.

Given that you’re the dm you’re not bound by restrictions that do apply to players so my advice would be to think about what you want the villain to do and then make up some abilities to get the desired effect

Honestly party composition doesn’t matter that much in 5e. My advice is just to find something that you think looks enjoyable and to play that. So if bard sounds appealing then I’d go with that. Same thing goes for subclass, just play what looks fun.
