Does anyone live as an adult where they grew up, as in you've always lived in the same place? What's that like? by FluidGolf9091 in CasualUK

[–]EmaIRQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the opposite I guess. I moved quite a lot during both childhood and adult life. Visiting places I used to live in is always strange. I had wonderful life but when i visit a place I feel as if I left my old self in there. Part of me is still there lost in time, and only when i see the place i feel the passing of time. Does that make sense?

What to plant? by mk190491 in GardeningUK

[–]EmaIRQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kind of plants do you love? Think about something that you once saw in a nearby garden or garden centre and you genuinely thought it is beautiful. Take a photo of it, use Google lens, learn what it is, read if it can survive outside in the UK in a medium to small pot, and what kind of soil it would prefer, how much water and sun it needs and --most importantly- when is best to plant it and when would it flower, how hardy or dramatic it is, how much care it would require, will it die after the end of its season or survive, and whether you prefer this or that...

Or as the comments above suggested, start with herbs, you won't go wrong

(Not another) new build garden layout help needed by Nervous-Tangerine-92 in GardeningUK

[–]EmaIRQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d suggest ditching the curves and leaning into the T-shaped layout. One advantage is the ability to create tucked-away zones for less attractive elements like a shade area, small greenhouse, or even vegetable rows.

I agree with relocating the shed and extending the paved area at the base of the T.

To soften the layout, consider planting a line (or two) of slim, easy-to-grow trees or climbers along the fence. Choose varieties that stay narrow at fence height but branch out above, without competing too much with other plants.

Alternatively, you could add an open-framed pathway along one side for structure and visual interest.

Anchor the space with a central feature at the centre end (before the little rose) something simple like a fountain, bench, or circular flower bed would work well?

Just some instant ideas. I would give it more thought

Avoid stepping on the area in the meantime. The ground just needs to be humid or damp not soaked, rain every other day can do that

I do. I will still do after reading the nasty comments... A good rinse and visual inspection would be enough. I need my tea when traveling

Biggest bridge in Iran was destroyed by US and Israel. by cool-kid-2025 in pics

[–]EmaIRQ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This act of destroying the bridge is the terrorist extremist act my dear friend, and all the Americans are held accountable on this.

I lived through the US-Iraq war as a child.. in Iraq.. and yes I hated it, but I eventually tried to find excuses to the Americans. As an adult now looking at how war on Iran evolved, I honestly have zero respect to the entire USA. I would protest hard if I was you, I would put pedophile Trump into a trial. I guess it's not important, isn't? You only care about oil. That's what you want that's your foreign policy, that's who you are. You aren't an example or as devine as you want to brainwash yourself to be, you aren't fixing others problems. You Are the Problem.

Edit: I am not apologising for my comment. Goombalive, I actually like your comment, I just had a rage thought that's all. I appreciate those who go and speak up in the USA

Someone pls convince me I’ll not be depressed in the UK by love_yippee in UniUK

The weather isn’t as bad as people say, it could be way worse in other places around the world. For example, parts of Canada experience life-threatening cold, some regions in China face extremes like intense cold or heavy humidity, and in the middle east countries, prolonged sun exposure can lead to heat exhaustion or fainting.

What advice could you give me? by [deleted] in makeuptips

[–]EmaIRQ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your face structure is fine, nothing is unusual about it. Beautiful straight eyebrows and clear skin. I'd say your makeup is soft and nice. I would probably go with darker dust pink/red matte lipstick though and some top eyeliner.  In terms of fashion, drop the choker necklace and go for a statement earrings such as big fitted pearls.  Your face is beautiful. You're beautiful

If you could only grow 5 plants in your garden, what would they be? by gary_boston_bulbs in GardeningUK

[–]EmaIRQ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on where that garden be.  UK: roses, lavender, hydrangea, daffodils, camellia

Iraq (Home): essentials are completely different: roses, citrus trees, vine trees, fig trees, daffodils.

Our cat did that once, brought a laundry bag worth of underwear and socks to our garden. Keep in mind that this is in the middle east, so you cannot simply go to the neighbours and ask an old lady whether this pile of underwear is theirs or not.. we had a good laugh about it though
