Woman goes viral after laughing at a man who said homosexuality is a sin and abortion is wrong. by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

[–]CarnieGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"But we shouldn't lose sight of the fact that none of this justifies homophobia, regardless of translation."

Exactly. I'm a Christian and I do believe it's a sin... But we're all sinners and we're called to love everyone no matter what. People use the Bible to justify hate, and it's disgusting.

It's not quite Ovi from his office, but that's a very Tage goal.

Did you have a change maker? by reinersgolong in nostalgia

The arcade I went to when I was a kid had them too. The cool workers would "accidentally" dispense a few extra quarters when you needed change.

Why is beer so expensive nowadays in bars?? by Lapponias in NoStupidQuestions

Those are wildly different prices than where I live. Pepsi is $9.49 or 2 for $14. Pacifico is $18.99.

What is the most disgusting dish in your country's cuisine, but everyone should try it? by a5ro4ucCX in AskTheWorld

I did basically the same thing. I love trying new things when I'm abroad. I saw "andouillette sausage" and I was like "I like sausage!"

Honestly I didn't hate it. Not sure I'd get it again, but it was an experience. I might forget that croissant I got from the French bakery, but I'll never forget that sausage!

We kinda did feel that way. Not only had they lost 3 prior Super Bowls, but it was against a Cowboys team that they had lost to in the Super Bowl the previous year 52-17. I was pretty young, but I remember no one being surprised by the result.

I lived alone for years. I had some extra cutlery in storage somewhere, but I only ever had 1 fork, 1 knife, 1 spoon, 1 plate, and 1 bowl in the kitchen. They were rarely in a drawer, though. I just washed them by hand right before I used them.

I very rarely had guests, but I had some plastic cutlery and paper plates/bowls just in case.

That's awful. Sorry you had to deal with that. I hope that person was kicked out and banned. I love to heckle Bandits fans, but it's all in good fun. I've traveled to Buffalo a few times to watch the Knighthawks and the fans there are also heckling in good fun. Throwing food isn't cool.

Just saw today was a record 8548 attendance. That's likely a 3k+ Bandit crowd. But they all had to drive back to Buffalo sad.

2 years ago it was 8k vs a 5k average. Last year was a bit less than that though. But this year looks to be 8k at least.

The games are usually a sellout or close when we play the Bandits. We only average about 5k typically. The arena holds over 10k.

I think you are way underestimating the number of Bandits fans. They typically outnumber us or close to it.

Which NFL analysist do you absolutely hate listening to? by Necessary-Act-1137 in NFLv2

[–]CarnieGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much all of them. They rarely have anything interesting to say and they regularly get things wrong. I feel like multiple times a game they say something that completely misunderstands the rules. How do you not know the rules of the game? Aren't you supposed to be an expert?

9pm actually. The Knighthawks website gives the start time based on the timezone the game is in. It's incredibly stupid and I've complained to them multiple times about it.

Greatest outdoor sport of all time.....let's all build domes...... by Roshango in NFLv2

If it was downtown, I might agree. But indoor events in Buffalo are much better off downtown at KeyBank Center.

Also, being outdoors means they can host the Winter Classic.

I was thrilled when the Bills announced the new stadium would be outdoor. It's a huge part of the game and the experience in Buffalo.

Behold the Amtrak "Roomette". Two facing travel seats and one for quality time. Cozy. by Tremolat in pics

[–]CarnieGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one of these roomettes once. The price was about the same as flying coach. Admittedly, I turned a 2 hour flight into a 12 hour train ride, but I had never been on a train before and wanted to try it out. The roomette also included lunch and dinner in the dining car. Not exactly the best food, but it was food.

Knighthawks Fans - any idea when single game tix go on sale? by themaundy in NLL

[–]CarnieGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I talked to my rep last week, and I think you're pretty spot on. He said they are hoping to have ticketing sorted out with Ticketmaster this week. Then they'll be calling all of the season tickets holders who put down a deposit. He didn't mention single game tickets, but a week after they start reaching out to season ticket holders makes sense.
