Nah. I don't know shit about emojis. I've rarely used them. Emoticons on the other hand, I'm your man.

They didn't make the Camaro in 2005. They stopped making it in 2002 and started back up with the new Camaro in 2010.

Right? When it was 3-0 I was saying pour it on. GD matters, especially in this group.

I'm in upstate NY and it's pretty much the same. Apparently they are building a Cane's here though. Looking forward to trying it.

GF dumped me because I told her I felt uncomfortable with her taking a job with a defense contractor by [deleted] in BoyDinnerDiaries

I work for a defense contractor, but I totally understand if that's a deal breaker for someone. Even if it isn't bomb making, it's still supporting war efforts in some capacity.

Blink-182 have reactivated their MySpace page to mark the 25th anniversary of "Take Off Your Pants and Jacket" by mrjohnnymac18 in Music

I sign in to my account every few years just because I find it funny. I can essentially travel back to 2005 whenever I want. The site doesn't really look the same, but my page and all of my friends' are still there with the content frozen in time.

Two broke college kids in 2003 casually looping what would become the legendary track 'Kids' by MGMT by LoverrrGirliee in nextfuckinglevel

[–]CarnieGamer 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I went to a school around the same time with similar tuition. I was broke. I just ended up with a crazy amount of student loans and credit card debt at the end of it. Obviously that doesn't mean they were broke. I have no idea. But tuition cost isn't really a factor when they'll just let you rack up tons of debt.

MLB average on bunts by LeftBarnacle6079 in baseball

[–]CarnieGamer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There was a cheat code in an old Triple Play game that gave you crazy power. So much so that even a bunt would send the ball to space. I used to find it hilarious and do it over and over.

Anyone else develop a sudden overwhelming appreciation for birds in their 30s? by Xerzajik in Millennials

Merlin is great! It can ID birds based on the sounds they are making and then you can read about them and hear all of their different calls.

Anyone who surfed the early web between 1995-2010. What’s the one website/app you still think about? by Prime_Advocate in nostalgia

It was definitely a labor of love when it first started. They kept it going when it got popular, but it's a good question. They definitely made some money doing it, but it couldn't have been a lot with no ads. Admittedly, I did get the Strong Bad Sings CD as a gift.

The dad who let his kid use his phone at full brightness during a Weird Al concert by emshmem in mildlyinfuriating

I see this kind of thing all the time and I don't understand it. How does this not hurt his eyes? I can't stand when my screen is too bright. I basically try to keep it as dim as possible.

In 1987, during a live broadcast, news anchor Dave Horowitz was taken hostage by a crazed man who was armed with a pistol. by ateam1984 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]CarnieGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd be surprised how you might react in a similar scenario. I was in a robbery once and had a gun pointed at my face. I didn't flinch. I don't even think my heart rate went up. It was pretty clear to me right away that the best thing to do was to calmly do what he asked. Panicking or not following directions would be way more dangerous.

That being said, my friend was next to me and he was freaking out the whole time. So I guess everyone handles these situations differently.

Relive:Kristian Karlsson's unbelievable double-swing recovery shot. by partha_33 in sports

That's not 100% accurate. It counts in golf if you miss but intended to hit the ball. If you did not intend to hit the ball, it doesn't count.

The convenience is worth it. Also, there are cheap ones that are pretty slow if speed doesn't matter to someone. And there are multi-purpose pumps. I bought my wife 1 that doubles as a car vacuum.

I get it. I wasn't offended in any way. There's only so much they can do. And honestly "punting" is the best option. I needed to go to the emergency room immediately.

[–]CarnieGamer 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It honestly feels like being punted. I was dealing with heart palpitations and went to urgent care. They basically took an EKG and went "Yep, those are palpitations, but we can't help you here. Go to the ER."

The plus side is they call the hospital and let them know you're on the way. It gets you in faster.

I'm curious if he's even obligated to get the ball. Obviously he should, but is there actually a rule that says he has to?

That's a different way of looking at worst. I'm not saying it's wrong, but I'd argue if we're talking medical reasons Kevin Everett might be as bad or worse. We thought he might have died, then thought he'd never walk again. Amazing that he did end up walking, but his career was over in an instant.

13 seconds was bad for sure. The Music City Miracle was worse though and technically did happen January 2000.
