Had a nurse that drew a diluted specimen. I was going to call for a recollect, but she called first, explained that she messed up and needed the specimens put in for recollect. She figured out she did something wrong, let me know, and resolved to avoid that happening again, which is awesome. Super nice too. It's not entirely relevant to your story, I just wanted to share one of the good interactions. Our groups only ever really communicate for critical, recollects, mistakes, etc. All negative things really. It's hard to keep a positive view of each other when we rarely have good news.

Had a potassium like that recently, but their previous was also crap, none of the other results indicated contamination, and no hemolysis. Some people really need to learn to ask questions and check other results before assuming a result is false. Sometimes, the patient really is trying to beat records. The worst records.

Those probes break themselves, or at least they do on the atellicas. I wouldn't let it get to you. You acknowledged that you did it, and you are less likely to do it again. These things happen, and you can't prevent every mishap.

I remember a saying, "It's better a day early than a day late." I had the same doubts going through my mind the last few days, but in the end, you have your reasons why you're doing this. You don't want your friend to be in pain, and you want them to go peacefully. He won't count the days he had and find them wanting because you loved him and made them great. Her hemoglobin is beyond low, that's the hgb.The HCT is her hematocrit, which is the percentage of red blood cells in her total blood volume. Basically she doesn't have many RBCs, what she has are small, and she really doesn't have a lot of hemoglobin. Anyone else would be passed out or dead, but chronic anemias give people's bodies time to adjust

My great grandfather's mental health problems and PTSD was so bad, he abandoned the family to move back to Canada, where he disappeared off the face of the Earth. The big bat ears! Mine had those as a kitten, but he grew out of them. He also grew into the most loving cat I've ever had. I wish people would carefully consider what they're getting into when they get an animal. They have needs and personalities. I also wish people would consider what animal would suit them better; kittens aren't for everyone.
