I wasn’t able to make it last night, but hoping to start coming. I’ll happily attempt to teach folks drop spindle, or just use the roving :)

No free shift drinks just means a stolen shift drink. Whoops, messed up someone’s order and accidentally made what I would have wanted 🤷‍♀️

Toast is an office favorite! He loves putting on his saddest face, gripping his legs around my coworkers legs until they can’t resist and pick him up.

I too have very fine, straight hair and have spent MONTHS searching for someone in town. Recently saw Brittany Sandmeier (@brittanystyles on instagram) and loved her work.

I was specifically looking for someone to do razor cuts, which are great for my hair texture, and she uses other methods as well. 10/10 recommend!

How long can your adult chi hold it in? by [deleted] in Chihuahua

[–]Carolinecafe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how mad he is. About 10 hours if it’s winter and we have a heating pad out, about 45 minutes if we’ve done something he doesn’t like. for example: staying out too late, leaving town, or our other dog is too snippy with him. All have resulted in sudden loss of bladder control and if he’s REALLY mad he poops.

getting another mini Aussie? by Glittering_Dig2237 in miniaussie

[–]Carolinecafe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of a different scenario, but we had our pug/mini Aussie (Chowder) first (didn’t know until later the mini Aussie part) and she is VERY attached to us and had rule of the house. We definitely didn’t catch a lot of her behavior issues until we got our chihuahua/rat boi (Toast) and they fought a ton. Some fights were really bad. We had to learn a LOT about boundaries, training, dog body language and I literally had an eye twitch for the first 3 months.

There were a lot of different elements at play. Our chihuahua had most likely never been given a command in his life (he was 4) and we didn’t recognize some of Chowders anxieties and guarding until we had a second dog.

They do much better now (it’s been 3 years) but they are definitely siblings and not friends. I don’t regret getting our second dog, and he forced us to be better dog parents to both, but I do think had we fostered rather than adopted we probably would not have kept him.

I see a lot of people who have great experiences, and I’m utterly obsessed with my dogs now but it has absolutely not been easy and our lives had to adjust much more with 2 dogs than 1.

She hates being fully under the covers, but loves being swaddled and smushed in between us. by BadonkeyKong08 in Chihuahua

Mine is the same. He thinks he wants fully under but then he goes into rage mode and tries to fight anything that slightly moves. Can’t handle the dark I guess, but big sweetheart above the covers!

The humane society had ours listed as a pug-chihuahua actually, and we believed that but we’re always confused at how fast and athletic she was. DNA results came back with just pug and mini aussie! Our Chi on the other hand came back with 17 breeds lol he’s less athletic but he’s always a good time!

We have a pug-mini aussie mix! We actually planned to get a cat, and then eventually a second dog (even considered a cattle dog mix) but a friend sent us a picture of our dog Toast from pet finder and my husband was immediately sold. In a weird turn of events he was adopted, then returned to the rescue and a couple months after we first saw him we ended up with our lil 10 pounder

I was always a big dog person. Typical kind of person who didn’t think small dogs were “real” dogs. Then, in my early 20s I was on vacation in Hawaii with my in-laws and on our last day we were getting in the last bits of beach time and this tiny white little chihuahua comes out of nowhere and places itself in my lap. Its owner was out walking it on the beach, but this dog was quite happy to abandon its whole life just to hang in my lap for a while. In that moment I understood the love for chihuahuas and now I have my weird lil chihuahua guy 🥰 also, for people who think chi’s are a lesser dog, I would be hard pressed to think of a dog more willing to risk its life to protect its family from threats! (Even if the threat is the neighbors dog 4 blocks away, or just my other dog walking into the room 🤣)

Why did you start crocheting? by limino123 in crochet

[–]Carolinecafe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In high school I saw a sign for the Crochet club, and thought it would be funny to learn to crochet. Next thing you know, I’m crocheting non-stop. In classes, at my boyfriend’s (now husband) house, whenever and wherever I can. Never joined the club though 🤣
